Christmas in the Heart! Christmas Reading!

December 21, 2011 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 4 Comments

‘It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.”

W.L.Ellis

I do not know about you but with all the other things goings on this month my reading has slowed a bit.

I have however managed to squeeze in the Christmas classics, The Christmas Carol, along with several other stories written by Charles Dickens. The Christmas Chronicles by Jeff Guinn which I love, three books about Santa Claus written from the perspective of the man himself. Miracle on 34th Street by Valentine Davies and two feel good books. Christmas Joy by Susan Branch filled with recipes, memories and illustrations it is a nice little book to get you into the Christmas Spirit. Speaking of which, Getting into the Christmas Spirit by Tian Dayton was the last book which I just finished last night, inspiring affirmations and quotes to help one manage the holidays!

Why not make yourself a little cocoa, and relax in a comfy chair  while you take in one of the Christmas classics.

Are you reading anything great? If you are looking for something to read other than Christmas classics there have been some great suggestions made by Sunday atCiao Domenica and by Jeanne at Collage of Life. I have made a list of many of their suggestions and will be reading them next year(that sounds weird to say it, where does the time go?).

Happy Winter, tomorrow(thank you Di at Yonks) is the first day! Are you going to have a white Christmas?

    GOOD MORNING SWEET ONE!!!!!!!

OK, there was a package at my home…..oh dearest…..sweet blessings to you…and I shall treasure your thoughts always…back later to talk. Off to school, and yes, I agree. Reading for pleasure has come to a HALT! But I HOPE, I HOPE it will resume during my break.

    LOTS OF LOVE, Anita

Like you my reading has stopped for the last month but come Christmas day I'm reading in front of the fireplace! Love the idea of turning your books into a tree.

Elizabeth, I went on your blog to read one of your cozy Christmas posts (which you have been doing all month) and was delighted to see that you linked to my blog! I am home wrapping presents and getting ready to start baking for the big day, and seeing your blog post made my day! I love your photos and great suggestions for Christmas reading. Have you ever read "A Christmas Memory" by Truman Capote? It is one of my favorites and I think you would love it. I hope you have a beautiful holiday!
    xx Sunday

Because of the leap year, you are a day early! A great reminder though. We are having a pagan yule feast tonight to celebrate the solstice! You know me, any excuse for a party. Happy Yule dear friend.
    Much love
