Celebrating Mother’s Week

May 7, 2012 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 4 Comments

A Mother

by Anonymous

A Mother is one who

understands the things

you say and do

Who always overlooks

your faults and sees the

best in you

A Mother is one whose

special love inspires you

day by day.

Who fills your heart with

gladness in her warm

and thoughtful way.

A Mother is all these things

and more-the greatest

treasure known.

And the dearest Mother in

all the world is the one I

call my own.

Sunday is Mother’s Day and I thought instead of just celebrating our mother’s one day this week we could celebrate all week. I am going to celebrate my mom all week from a distance because I will not be able to be with her on her special day. I was thinking of a beautiful breakfast or maybe a ladies tea, perhaps gift ideas, and who knows what else. I think it will come to me in the next few days.

In the meantime, I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that you have a fabulous week!

    How beautiful, dear Elizabeth…
I have tears in my eyes after reading this poem, which rings so true for my mom. I was blessed with a mother who inspired the best in everyone she touched.
Celebrating all week is indeed a marvelous idea, sweet friend!
    These are beautiful paintings…
On to the next post 🙂
    Love and hugs,
    – Irina

We would go blueberry and peach picking with my grandmother and fill bushels of peaches to take home for her to bake with and the can for the winter. I’m not sure how much help we were because I am pretty sure that we are our body weight in peaches. We were a sticky mess by the end of the day with a belly full of Michigan’s finest peaches.
