Introducing London Bakes A Beautiful Blog

June 20, 2012 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 11 Comments

I love finding new blogs, especially ones that are filled with beautiful photographs and wonderful recipes. Recently I discoveredLondon Bakes,a blog written by Kathryn, an accountant that lives in London and documents her culinary and travel adventures.

London Bakes is filled with simple staged, inspiring images and tasty recipes. The Orange and Ginger Cookies served with a cup of tea in beautiful transfer ware and the Leek and Gruyere tart served with a spinach salad make me feel as if I am sitting down with a friend to a long chat or a delicious Saturday lunch.

And these Lemon Strawberry Sour Cream Cookies, conjure up images of a special day for my Valentine sweetie.

I am looking forward to trying these Bailey’s and Chocolate Chip cookies

and this delectable Raspberry and Almond Olive Oil Cake.

In addition to her beautiful recipes( there are many savory ones also), Kathryn shares her adventures eating out and about in London. Her reviews are honest, unpaid, unsolicited and well written. If you are traveling to London for the Olympics you should take a look at a few of her reviews.

If you are a fan of food blogs, recipes, and of course food go over and check out London Bakes, I think you will really enjoy it! I will be trying a few of her recipes in the near future.

Have a great day!

Good morning beautiful friend! Oh that almond OLIVE OIL CAKE sounds wonderful! I remember making an ORANGE WATER OLIVE OIL cake once and it was unbelievable. To join what you would think of only as savory with sweet was a surprise!!! Sending you wishes for a perfect day. Anita

    Hi Elizabeth,

Just discovered your fabulous blog through No Minimalist Here's Open House Party and I am THRILLED! Your Cinnamon Roll Muffins look delicious and can't wait to try them and also to take a longer look around (spotted a cinnamon cake, too!). I guess I've exposed my cinnamon obsession. Hope you'll drop by my place (I also linked up to the party, first time. It's amazing!).

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray
