Fall Decorating Ideas

September 13, 2012 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 5 Comments

Do you decorate for Fall?

Image Victoria Magazine

By that I mean do you change out the mantle, the door decoration, your cabinets, flowers, and the rest of the house?

Or do you buy a few mums and pumpkins and call it a day?

I have to be honest, I do not really go “all out” as they say.

I do buy gourds and pumpkins for the kitchen and keeping room and usually mums for the front planters.

and I will buy a few pumpkins to carve but that is pretty much the extent of my decorating.

Even though I do not go all out,

I  love seeing all of the gorgeous ideas that are shown in the magazines and of course on Pinterest.

In case you need a little inspiration I have picked some of my favorites.

Such wonderful inspiration. I am sure I have repinned many of them if you have them on your board. I usually put a basket of dried "things" on the front door, add mums here and there salong with pumpkins. I suppose you could say I decorate for the season. I do love buying all the autumn issues of my favorite magazines and dreaming.

I saw a lot I liked and wish I had more time for. We have tons of acorns but I hate picking them up since all the animals around here eat them. Just this morning I was watching three deer along our drive eating the acorns. This weekend I am planting up Mums in our front urns and I do use pumpkins that we grow but that's pretty much it. It really comes down to time for me and this is my extremely busy time of the year. Loved seeing this post and dreaming.

Good morning friends! I need prayers, lots of pray Good morning friends! I need prayers, lots of prayers. My nephew was hit by a car on Thursday while riding his bike. To respect my brothers wishes I can’t say more. I believe in the power of pray and I would appreciate it tremendously if you could pray for my nephews full recovery as well as for his parents who are by his side. Sadly because of Covid they cannot be with him together at the same time. Thank you friends I appreciate this more than I can say. Have a wonderful day and remember life is fragile, it changes in an instant, hug your kids, your parents, your friends, family and pets. #powerinprayer #prayer #prayers #thereispowerinprayer #lifelately #spring #birds #birdsofinstagram

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray
Although I see signs of spring, a daffodil popping Although I see signs of spring, a daffodil popping up from the ground, bright and colorful flowers in the garden center the weather and the calendar tell me otherwise. So I am hunkering down and taking solace inside enjoying the details of a collected home and life. This tapestry is a piece that we purchased over 25 years ago in Paris, it hang in the dining room and makes me smile every time I see it because it reminds me of such a happy and beautiful place.
