Good morning! I know it is not yet December, but you would not know it being at my house or reading this blog.

I do believe this is the most wonderful time of the year and I am going to squeeze every second out of it.

I cannot get enough of the wreaths, doors, trees and now mantles.

I have two fireplaces, actually one that is double sided in the keeping room/kitchen area and in the family room.

Although I decorate them both they are totally different but they are simple. If I can be completely honest, I hate “dismantling” the house( no pun intended) to decorate. I am out of storage space.

So tell me, how do you decorate your mantle? Greens, antlers, silver, candles, fruit, flowers?

If you have your mantle decorated, put your link in the comments so that we can come and check it out or write and let us know what you are using to decorate.

You, my friend, have great taste in Christmas mantel selections. Loved them all. I think too many people go way overboard on their Christmas mantel makeover. I think its important to keep it simple, and I favor natural materials like the pinecone garland you show. Love #1 and #4. Have a great day! – Tonya

These are all so pretty! I always begin with lots of green . My preference is a more natural look. The candles, a little bit of red, and a few pine cones is easy and festive. I also have two blue and white porcelain pieces that I've added. I have a second fireplace in the kitchen area however I don't have much space ..desk we will see what I come up with. Have fun planning!

You are inspiring me. I keep looking at my mantle in the family room. I always do something different. It will be simple and almost assuredly organic. It makes me happy to see someone enjoy the holiday as you do. Bonnie

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray

So I am hunkering down and taking solace inside enjoying the details of a collected home and life. This tapestry is a piece that we purchased over 25 years ago in Paris, it hang in the dining room and makes me smile every time I see it because it reminds me of such a happy and beautiful place. Good afternoon friends, it’s a frigid day here. Good afternoon friends, it’s a frigid day here. How is it in your “neck of the woods?” We took a long road-trip a few weeks ago to the beautiful @colonialwmsburg . I love this place, there is so much to see and do and even wearing masks and social distancing you can still enjoy the history and the beauty of this living museum. Today I am home doing the weekend chores, and of course doing a little baking. I hope that you have a fabulous weekend. #colonialwilliamsburg #williamsburg #colonialhouse #livinghistory #livinghistorymuseum #museum #winterfun #roadtrip #wanderlust #weekend #weekendvibes #weekendmood
