Get Out and VOTE

November 6, 2012 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 7 Comments

Good morning! Today is a big day in the USA, it is election day!

I am so excited, finally an end to four years of campaigning, 40 calls a day from both parties and of course non-stop news coverage.

I want to encourage you to encourage everyone that you know to get out and vote.

Voting is a privilege as well as a right that so many around the world do not have and too many people in the USA do not exercise that right.

I hope you have a great day!

Oh and if you want a little something to drink while you are watching the election night coverage, come over to my other blog, Once Upon a Chocolate Life. You might just want to make a cup of Basil-Mint Hot Chocolate! It is delicious!

    Hello Elizabeth:
We do so agree that to participate in the democratic process by voting is a privilege, and a right, which is denied to far too many.

One hour and the polls open and I for one will be there doing my civic duty and my right by voting!

    Your hot chocolate sounds delicious!

    Good morning,

Just returned from the polls, arrived at 5:15 and there was already a long line. By 6:00 am there were about 150 people in line.

I hope everyone gets out to vote!

    Have a great day!

Elizabeth, I, too, have cast my vote. It is a privilege we to often take for granted and assume our vote doesn't count. I think it is going to be a long night. I have a sweater to knit for our sweet Waldi. Oh my, you had me at basil mint. I will most certainly be checking the beverage recipe.

Thank you for your kind and comforting words. I was indeed blessed to have had my Aunt Nancy. Thank you for reading and for allowing me to share. Have a wonderful day! It is going to be a beautiful autumn day here. Bonnie

My dear friend, how happy I was to see your message this morning! I am ok, yes…thank you…but have been in a bit of a shock and a funk this past week…checking on family/friends on the coast. Seeing the coverage…it is really something.
I am heading out to vote right now, and hope that the line will be short.
Also would love to catch up on all of your posts this week…
The hot chocolate is GORGEOUS! Basil…interesting! I will hop over to Choco Life for the recipe.
Thank you again, and sending you much love!

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray
