Thanksgiving Rolls

November 9, 2012 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 11 Comments

Yeast rolls, biscuits, Parker House rolls, buns and more rolls for Thanksgiving dinner.

Squash dinner rolls

Squash Dinner Rolls Taste of Home

Thanksgiving Rolls

As I am on a roll, no bun, I mean pun intended, with Thanksgiving preparations I thought I would continue with bread or rolls as I prefer. I love yeast rolls! In fact, I could eat yeast rolls with lots of butter everyday.

Refridgerator Yeast Rolls

Sadly I cannot do that because I would have a butt as big as a Cinnabon! So I usually just eat them a few times a year at the holidays and family dinners.

Chive and Thyme Pull Apart Rolls

There are lots, and lots, of great recipes and frankly I do not think you can go wrong with any of them.

Sour Cream Pocketbook Rolls

I am usually a purist, I really enjoy plain old fashioned yeast rolls, just like the ones my grandmother used to make.

Sweet Potato Biscuits

As with a few other items on my menu this year I am going to branch out and try the herb overnight yeast rolls.

Orange Buttermilk Rolls

Do you make your own rolls for Thanksgiving dinner? Or do you pick them up from your local bakery?

Cloverleaf Honey Wheat Rolls

In addition to rolls for dinner I am also going to make some pumpkin cinnamon rolls to start to the day. I mean after all, if you are going to be a glutton you may as well begin at breakfast. Thankfully I do not eat turkey so I will not have to waste my calories on that.

Overnight Soft Herb Dinner Rolls

Cinnamon Rolls

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

Do you serve a big breakfast on Thanksgiving day? Or just cereal and toast to people still have room for all of the delicious things you are cooking and baking?

Cinnamon Date Rolls

As it it typically just my husband and I at the house before we host or head over to someone else’s house we do both.

Cinnamon Breakfast Rolls

I hope that wherever you fins yourself on Thanksgiving day that you are surrounded by family and friends, joy and love.

Have a great day friends. Thank you for spending part of it with me.

I HEAR YA about the yeast rolls. Let me tell you, I can eat bread all day every day if I could, HERE IN THE STATES. In France or any other place where I could walk miles a day, that is not a problem! I used to love those yeast rolls that my mum made too. These days, we eat more turkey and French green beans and sweet potatoes with chopped apple, walnuts and cinnamon!

    LOVE TO YOU DEAR ELIZAETH

Elizabeth you are making my mouth water. My mom use to make the best rolls from scratch, especially cinnamon and oragen rolls There is nothing like homemade roll are there, unless they're mine. I did not inherit my mothers skills for rolls!! I hope you have a terrific weekend. Not sure what we're doing but I do think it includes demo'ing a wall. FUN!!

Elizabeth those herb dinner rolls look and some fabulous! That's one item I usually buy at the bakery but now I'm rethinking that idea.

Hey I just tried polenta in slow cooker last night and it was so easy to make. I pinned a recipe on my board if you're interested. I threw in some rosemary to dress it up it was wonderful and so creamy!

    Enjoy your weekend!

I love rolls of any kind. Bread is my weakness. I have made biscuits from scratch, but not rolls. I LOVE yeast rolls.

You are killing me here! I LOVE bread way more than bread loves me and give me a hot buttery yeast roll and I am in total heaven. NO willpower when it comes to bread (or chcolate, pasta or cheese for that matter:) Everything looks soooooo good and a homemade roll is sublime!
    Happy weekend to you Elizabeth!

Yum! You must be everyone's favorite neighbor. You are always stirring up something amazing. I have always loved to bake bread. My rolls, nothing special, have already been requested for Thanksgiving. No turkey for you… oh my! Thanksgiving is the only time I roast a turkey and look forward to it all year. Have a wonderful weekend. Bonnie
