Back to Life

January 2, 2013 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 14 Comments

Good morning. Today I am heading back to life, by that I mean work, working out, a normal diet and a routine. What about you? Are you off the rest of the week or are you heading back to work?

Although I loved every second of the holiday I have to be honest, I am a train wreck when it comes to a routine or balanced meals during the holidays. I have no will power around any kind of sugar,  chips and dip or snack type foods, in fact yesterday I ate two donuts before noon.

I loved perusing the Internet yesterday to see so many inspirational messages, healthy living advice and great ideas for making 2013 a happy, healthy and successful year. My family has all gone home so we are jumping in with both feet today to start the year right. No big changes, just little tweaks.

Although I do not think I will be joining the 365 photo a day challenge; I love the reading challenge, trying one new thing a week/month, getting rid of the clutter challenge,  365 days of gratitude, and making an effort to eat more healthy.

Before I send you off to start your day I wanted to show you something beautiful and inspirational. My dear friend Anita of Castles Crowns and Cottages made this from paper! Anita is an incredibly talented writer, artist and blogger.

This past year she left her job as a French teacher to pursue her passion, I think that we can safely say that she made the right decision.

Anita my dear, I cannot wait to see where 2013 takes you.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

WOW! WOW!!!!!!! YOU TOOK ME BY SURPRISE! You already had me at those wonderful advise boards, and I was just about to pin the black one when SHAZAMMMMMMMMM! I see my name and photos! Oh Elizabeth, THANK YOU for this support my dear! I will never forget this. NEVER! The support so far has been so meaningful to me, I cannot forget it.

AND I KNOW that you will get back on your track for 2013 – the holidays were splendid and now we can start our routines again. I love all the advice on that particular board and you know, drinking a large glass of water is the FIRST thing I do after I wake up? It sure is a great way to wake up!

MUCH LOVE MY FRIEND! THANK YOU! Anita

Anita, of course I support you! I am in awe of your creativity. I know that you had some growing pains after you left teaching and I think that you are finally on some solid ground. I am so excited for you!

Hi Elizabeth, like how you think. Everything in moderation….taking on something too ambitious normally fails (for me) but baby steps is a surefire way to get working towards a goal. I love some of the ones you mentioned, they intrigued me! I love the do something new once a month, that I can do. Since I love taking pictures, the picture a day should not be a problem either:)
I hear you on the eating less and healthier, we ate with abandon during the holidays (part of the fun) but now its time to go a little easier and lighter, nothing crazy of course!
Anyway slowly getting back to normal here, with husband still recovering, I suspect it will be the end of the week till we are fully back up and back to normal…enjoy the day!

Tina, so sorry that your husband is still under the weather! I hope that in addition to caring for him you are taking care of yourself too.

      Have a wonderful week, Elizabeth

I am a slight train wreck during the holidays too, my eating habits and exercise get way off track. It is the only time of year I am like this but by the end I am ready to get things back in order and my life in order.

Cynthia, I am happy to hear that I am not the only one who goes off the rails with eating and snacking. It is nice to get back to routine!

Hi, Elizabeth – Happy New Year! Welcome to 2013. I'm joining you….getting back to my normal routine. No more eating and eating and eating. And back to working out. So glad you shared Anita's creation. I think it's her pièce de résistance. A work of couture!!
    Cheers to 2013, my friend!
