Searching for Soup

January 9, 2013 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 18 Comments

Good morning! I don’t know about your weather but it is freezing in my neck of the woods!

Chicken Noodle Soup Table for Two Blog

Not nearly as cold or snowy as it has been in the past but chilly none the less. SO I am searching for some soup recipes to take the chill out of my bones.

Cheeseburger Soup from The Recipe Critic

I already have great recipes for Red Chili, French Onion Soup and Tuscan Bean soup but I am looking for something else.

Lasagna Soup from Prevention RD

Something that is not necessarily good for you, like broccoli cheddar, or creamy chicken and wild rice, or a fabulous cream of potato soup.

Beer Cheese Soup from She Wears Many Hats

As you can see by my request, I am searching for some “comfort food” soup recipes, creamy, tasty, cheesy, or all of the above.

Chicken Bacon Wild Rice Soup From Pinch of Yum

Do you have any recipes for soup that are your go to soup for winter that you would be willing to share a link?

Roasted Cauliflower and Aged Cheddar Soup from Daydream Kitchen

Or if it is not on your blog, share the recipe here?

Cheddar Baked Potato Soup from Doughmesstic

I think tonight I may be making the Roasted Cauliflower and Aged Cheddar Soup because I have everything in my pantry and refrigerator. I will keep you posted!

In the meantime, I hope you have a warm and wonderful day!

And don’t forget to share your soup!

NOTE: All recipe links are under the photos, as are the photos source.

I have to be honest Elizabeth I stopped making soup two years ago. Not because we don't love soup because we do. But we have a green grocer not far from our home that makes four different soups a day that are to die for so I buy fresh made soup. What could be better fresh made soup without the work and I can try something different daily!

    Wishing you warmth!

Debra, I love your idea of buying the soup! Sadly I do not know of a place near me that makes soup that is like homemade. I used to live near on in FL and I think we ate their at least 5 times a week.

I hope you are having a great week, Elizabeth

Few things are as satisfying as a warm bowl of soup and crusty bread, yum!

OOH! Before I even saw it at the end, I was going to suggest ROASTED CAULIFLOWER SOUP! It is one of my favorites. I think I have had all of the ones you have shown here my friend, except for the cheeseburger one! That sounds fantastic!

OK, how about this one, but you have to love ITALIAN.

    TOMATO BREAD SOUP.

It is TDF. It is basically tomato soup made with day old bread as a thickening agent. Lots of basil is used as well. Google it or search on Pinterest.

Let me know if that suits your taste! It can be rich and creamy, so that will take care of that COMFORT FOOD need! LOVE! Anit

All these soups look delicious!!! One of my favorites is the Stonewall Kitchen Pumpkin soup – it's on their web site and you can substitute Trader Joe's pumpkin butter for the Stonewall one.

Have a toasty warm day!! xoxoxox

    Hi, Elizabeth –
We've been making big pots of white chili with turkey, chicken, and white beans. Very yummy, still hearty but not as heavy. I'll share the recipe on my blog soon.
    Stay warm 🙂

My favourite is Mulligatawny soup. I haven't made it myself as there are several good versions in our supermarkets like Covent Garden Soup. I like to add some leftover chicken to it. Great for cold weather.
    Have a great day.
