Amour

February 7, 2013 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 9 Comments

Good morning! I am curious, have you seen the movie Amour? The reason I ask is because in the last 2 weeks at least 8 people have mentioned this movie to me.

Then yesterday I saw an article about it, and last night a friend told me it is one of the best movies she has EVER seen in her life.  I think the universe is trying to tell me something? I would love to know if you saw the movie and if you liked it.

Today we are bracing for the storm of the year. I won’t deny it, I am excited and I hope that we get the 8 or 10 inches that I have heard about for the last two days.

I have my snow shoes ready to use for the first time this year.  In addition to a pile of magazines, some freshly made cookies and of course a pot of chocolate to help while away the day if we are lucky enough for a snow day.

I do not think I will be that lucky but a girl can dream, can’t she? What about your area, are you bracing for the storm? Be safe if you are.

Enjoy your day!

Going to check it out…I think we often like the same movies. Did you get to see Well diggers daughter? I think you would love it!
Your cookies and hot chocolate picture has my sweet tooth working extra early today. Yes, we are due to get in a foot or more of snow..I guess be careful what you wish for! I was complaining and now we are getting a whopper. Was supposed to be going to Boston this weekend but its very questionable now and I may instead be staying in cooking, reading and chilling. Sounds OK to me!
    Enjoy your day…..

Sweet girl, I have NEVER seen this movie, but I am biased and I will venture to say that because it is French (I know, I am biased!) that it will be FABULOUS. The French and British really know how to tell a tale in cinematic form.

I HEARD Y'ALL were going to get a blizzard! THINKING OF YOU DEAR ONE. Come visit if you get a chance. Anita

I haven't seen this movie but thanks for mentioning it. We're due to get over two feet of snow, possibly, so I'm going to pick it up today while out shopping. Time to get prepared for old man winter rearing his head again!

I heard/saw a review on CBS Sunday Morning and have put it onto my "must see" list. Stay safe during the snow storm.

"Amour" is definitely on my must see list…I am in Florida and I am supposed to fly home tomorrow…it is looking like that won't happen with the snowstorm so I get to hang with my mom a couple more days….maybe we can go see it. Stay warm! xoxo

Hi, Elizabeth! I'm also hoping for some snow. We've not received much in the DC area this year. But, it has been cold!

Have not seen Amour. I heard it is very good and quite sad. Tom and I love going to the movies. Think we're gonna watch something light this weekend. Perhaps a comedy as we've both had a stressful and busy week.

    Take care,
    Loi

Armour is about the confrontation of ageing and death – a challenging but beautiful film that could become one of the greats.

Stay safe and cozy, dear friend….
We are getting ready for some of our own white stuff tomorrow…
    Hot chocolate for all! 🙂
This movie sounds brilliant…sad, but beautiful…
    Hugs to you,
