Friday Favorites from Savvy City Farmer, Matej Peljan and More

April 20, 2013 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 12 Comments

Good Morning! It has been some week in the USA, between the horrific incidents in Boston and Texas, the massive flooding, tornado’s and snow in the Midwest I think we all need a break. Thankfully it is the weekend.

Here are a few of my favorite things from around the web this week. I hope you enjoy them!

Life in the Letter C, a beautiful post written by Suzanne at Privet and Holly about life lessons to be learned  from a good friend who is fighting cancer.

Fabulous photos of Joy from Savvy City Farmer and her beautiful home, which was photographed for the book, Romantic Prairie Style, click HERE.

For those of you who are still waiting for Spring, a post filled with Spring ideas from Little Emma  English Home, she features the beautiful photography of  79 Ideas Blog.

Image from Lonny Magazine via Looks Like White

An introduction to a blog that is new to me, Looks Like White, and a post that Trudy wrote on a Parisian favorite Astier de Villatte.

Image from Loi at Tone on Tone Blog

And a trip to the Paris flea market, “Les Puces” with Loi at Tone on Tone. In addition to beautiful photos of the flea market finds, he also features many beautiful images of Paris!

Last, but not least, please visit photographer Matej Peljhan newest series Le Petit Prince. These moving photographs feature Luka who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy and is confined to a wheel chair, enjoying a world where he can “play.” These photos are incredible and they make you think. I do not want to show you any of the images because I think to appreciate them you have to see them all, so please click HERE. I promise you will not be disappointed.

‘

I hope you find something above that is new to you and if you have something that you found this week on the web you would like to share let me know. I love to read and learn new things.

Enjoy your weekend!

Good morning dear heart. Yes, this has been a terrible week, and I was even supposed to get together with Suzanne; we live in the same area.

All we can do is run the race in this sometimes stormy life. Winners never quit and have an eternal light to guide their way. Peace and beauty to you! I have to now trudge in the snow to get to a half-day of school today! Anita

Just visited Suzanne's post .. heart felt indeed. Beautiful images Elizabeth and I like your little vignette at the top:) I agree with Anita. We just have to keep going and always look for the positive. I recall my mom saying "people are basically GOOD" and I believe this to be true and this thought helps me when I'm feeling saddened by something that's happened.

    Enjoy your weekend! xxleslie

I'm looking forward to the US not making the headlines in England – what a week you all have had!

Wonderful compilation – I am particularly struck by the unusual backsplash tile by Savvy City Farmer. Love!

So far I've only gone to one site and that was to see Luka. The photos are wonderful and he looks like he was having fun even if he was only laying down. I'm off to check out the other sites. Have a wonderful weekend Elizabeth!
