Good morning!
I was thinking the last few days about nesting, home and comfort.
I don’t know about you but when bad things happen in the world or in my life, I turn into a “nester.” I take great comfort from my home, family and routine.
I like to be wrapped in the cocoon of routine and my stuff.
I like to wake up in the morning and plod to my kitchen where I am greeted by this sheep, which always makes me smile.
Then I get out my hot chocolate pot, my special blend of chocolates, the milk and cream and the whisk. This morning ritual sets the tone for my day.
What about you? Are you a nester?
What brings you comfort? And solace?
Do you find everyday rituals comforting? Do you enjoy the little moments?
Do you take the time to smell the roses? To relish the small celebrations in life?
I hope you have a wonderful day! Enjoy your family and friends.
Oh, and if you feel like baking, these muffins are delicious. Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins at Once Upon a Chocolate Life.

Good morning sweet Elizabeth…
For me, great comfort comes in being safely at home, with my husband. A good book, TIME and a cup of tea with a FRIEND all are things that I enjoy. Looking at nature right out my window is another great joy…and the list goes on.
Sending you thanks and love for just being a great friend. Anita
Hello sweet friend! I hope that you have a fabulous day! You are so right, the little things…tea, a book, a visit with a friend, that is what life is all about.
I'm like you Elizabeth when something bad happens to shake our lives I turn to our home. It takes my mind off the bad things that are happening and makes me appreciate what's in front of me.
Enjoy your chocolate!

Debra~
Debra, you are so right. When bad things happen I always take stock of the blessings in my life.
Have a great day, Elizabeth
Love all these pretty little snippets of life over at your house:) Yes I do turn into a nester, and look to the comfort of my own home to give me security and comfort. Those muffins look sooooo good right now, but I will just have to pretend as I eat my morning bowl of Special K:)
Tina, I know that you are a rock and that you are doing fabulous on your diet. Sorry to tempt you but they will be there later for you to try.
I am a nester too and especially find comfort in the calm and quiet of my morning routine. I enjoyed this post 🙂
I love routine…it is comforting to me to set my day by routine. I hope you have a great day.
Good morning Elizabeth…I agree with you – I have retreated to the comfort of my home this week – I think it's a natural instinct when faced with something heart breaking. I enjoyed seeing the "snapshots" of your home! I am with Tina – the muffins look amazing and I was wishing I was eating that instead of greek yogurt and berries! Have a great day! xoxo
The muffins are fabulous!!! I do hope that you try them, although I am sure that the yogurt and fruit is so much better for you.
Yes, I'm a nester, I was taking similar photographs just last week in Brittany and had a kitchen designer in this morning, my London nest needs some refurbishment!
I was so sad to see the news and am praying for all those people in Boston, home is a great comfort as is the company of family and friends.

Jude, I cannot wait to see what you will be doing in your London kitchen! I have loved following along in Brittany as you use all the fresh products there.
I've discovered you interesting blog and I'll visit you soon! I find a lot of things I like here !
Elizabeth, When something happens I need to be with family or at least touch base with them. I often pick up my knitting as it occupies both my mind and my hands. I also find writing helps me release my anxieties, pain and fears. I've been doing quite a bit of both lately. The chocolate muffins sound wonderful. Have a good evening. Bonnie
I relish my morning ritual of having a steaming cup of coffee with the Morning Joe (News Show) playing in the background while I make breakfast for my son. He graduates next month and goes off to college soon and oh how I'll miss him! Yes, I agree our rituals are such a wonderful part of the nesting experience.

I am the same way, I need to be with my husband and my puppies. I just need to hold them a little closer and just feel safe in my world. Great post.

Yes! Definitely a nester! When my kids were young I'd get up extra early to have a quiet moment before the chaos. I'm not a morning person 🙂 and so I require my water, coffee, etc.. the alone time is important and it's important to have a warm and welcoming kitchen ~ my sanctuary:)

What a beautiful post….
Yes, I am indeed a nester…
Gorgeous art in your home (love the sweet sheep)…and a lovely, cozy feel…which can only come from a sweet soul like you…
Much love,
