Sadly, I think it is going to be a wild weekend for many on the East Coast with the first tropical storm of the year. Be prepared and stay safe.

I guess the good news about a rainy weekend is more time to read a good book and peruse blogs. Here are a few of my favorite posts from this week in case you missed them.
Are you planning a summer holiday to Maine? If so you will love this post about Boothbay Harbor, Maine, the Fairy Festival and Botanical Gardens at Renee Finberg Tells All. If not the photos are beautiful and you will want to.
I am always looking for new books to read and this week I hit the jackpot with posts by Elizabeth at Pretty Pink Tulips and The Glitter Guide.

I also love music and opera is a favorite, especially World of Opera on NPR. If you enjoy opera and live or will be visiting San Francisco this summer than you must read this post by Diane at The Style Saloniste. Diane reviews and offers highlights about the San Francisco Opera Summer season including ‘The Tales of Hoffmann’, ‘Cosi fan Tutte’ and the new ‘The Gospel of Mary Magdalene’. For more information visit the San Francisco Opera.

Steve and Brooke Giannetti of Velvet and Linen have moved into their beautiful new home Patina Farm. Every detail from the landscaping to the chicken house, to the windows, doors, paint and more were carefully thought out and the results are stunning. I enjoyed watching their dream go from pen and paper to brick and mortar.

I never tire of France and this week Corey and her French husband went on a road trip. There were so many beautiful posts I could not pick just one. I hope you visit Corey at Tongue in Cheek to see her wonderful photos and follow along on her adventures in France after 25 years of living there.
Although this Friday favorite is not from a blog it is very interesting. Artist Camilia Catrambone has a new take on family portraits. In her new work, instead of taking portraits of her family, she decided to represent them with their possessions or favorite foods. It sounds odd writing it here but it really is interesting. Click HERE for the story and photos or HERE to see more of her work.
Do you have any favorite posts from this week? Please share them in your comments in case we missed them or are unfamiliar with the blogs.
Enjoy your weekend!

WONDERFUL IMAGES MY DEAR! I love visiting Brooke and Steve to see their progress; they have made this part of California an even more desirable place to set up housekeeping; I remember a time when that whole area was nothing but growing fields and open spaces.
BE SAFE OUT THERE! We are still having cloudy and rainy days which have yielded beautiful lawns and gardens, but the cooler temps are not helping my basil to grow!
LOVE! Anita

What great posts for the week, and I can hardly wait to get to Velvet and Linen to see the images. Dying over using the antique breadboards on the mantel…genius! Happy weekend ~

I love the way Brooke has styled her bread boards. They've done a great job creating their dream home:)
This month is so busy.. it will be nice in July when things calm down and I can read a book or two. I just ordered The Summer House via Amazon a few days ago.
Enjoy your weekend! xxleslie

Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth…I do hope we see some sunshine this weekend. It is supposed to rain all day today and tomorrow but I don't mind because I have a lot to do inside. Hopefully SUN for Sunday so I can sit outside and READ!
Have a great weekend! xoxo
