Good morning! Another bright, hot, sunny day in store for my area. Fall came and went but that is OK because it brought a little rain and then my new “neighbors” showed up.
I am fascinated with toad stools and mushrooms, I love to awake to find new “villages” and “neighbors” in my garden.
Each one different, with a soft sued like exterior and delicate ruffled interior and sculptural quality. Others clustered like little villages with a town center and then a few further afield as if in the country. They are pieces of art left by Mother Nature.
I know that you too have heard the tales about pixies and fairies, so when I see these delicate structures pop up overnight I cannot help but wonder if I have new neighbors; even if only for a few days before these little structures wither away with the heat.
Whatever the case it is nice to stop and “smell the roses” as they say in the waning days of Summer, or in this case fungi and mushrooms.
In addition to all of my mushrooms I have seen more wildlife in my garden in the last week than I have seen in years, raccoon’s, a fox, opossum and of course my squirrel and his companions. I am sure they were always there I was just not awake when they were.
Have you noticed anything interesting in your garden lately? New birds, animals or plants? Or are you busy harvesting the last of your garden’s bounty?
“As the seasons come and go, here’s something that you might like to know. There are fairies everywhere; under bushes, in the air, playing games just like you play, singing through their busy day. So listen, touch and look around-in the air and on the ground. And if you watch all nature’s things you may just see a fairy’s wing.”

I hope that you have a great day!

AH! I caught you before I left…..I LOVE MUSHROOMS as they are a sign of change, at least in my garden! Oh how I long for the cooler weather. It is SO BLOODY HOT HERE all this week, Elizabeth! Let's get this fall thing started, shall we? HAPPY DAY, Anita
These look like delicate works for art! Things are starting to change around here slowly and surely….fall is on our doorstep!
So pretty and magical Elizabeth. In Autumn our lawns get lots of mushrooms in varying shapes and sizes, my favourite are very tall tiny capped ones that look like enoki although I'm not sure what they are, all very cute though!
Elizabeth there's something enchanting about your photos of these mushrooms! Is it just me who looking for signs of fairies and tiny trolls in your foliage? I loved these shots of your yard, and they remind me that I need to catch up on some gardening chores haha
Your photos are great…they look like something from a fairy tale!
Enjoy your day, Elizabeth! xoxo
aren't they beautiful? natures eccentric and whimsical side!
Elizabeth, Love all the pictures of the fungi. I always have them popping up after a rain. I must be quick if I want to take a photograph as the turtles feast on them. I hope your Wednesday is going well. Hugs! Bonnie
They always have such interesting textures and shapes when they show up.
I love it when mushrooms and other types of fungi show up. Fairies and other critters were always a part of my reading and I welcome their presence. Happy Autumn!

Elizabeth, first, a heartfelt
thank you for your kind and
uplifting comments on my
blog! Your words are really
such a balm to my spirit.
I love mushrooms and fungi,
even when they are popping
up in my lawn. Like you, I
find them fascinating as well
as fanciful. And pixies? Surely
they are out there. We have
to believe : ) !!
I hope your summer has been
wonderful. Now that school is
back in session, I am looking
forward to visiting my favorite
blogs again, which of course,
includes yours!

I like your photos – you've made mushrooms endearing and appealing in their own way.
