Good morning! Its Friday, finally. Normally I enjoy cool, grey, rainy days but this week they began to wear on me. Probably because it was lashing rain, no-stop wind and not really grey but almost dark all day, everyday for a week. That sort of weather makes me tired, but alas I was very busy with work so there was no time for that.

I am ready for the weekend and I think I may just start it with a delicious Kir Royale, recipe courtesy of the Anthro Blog.

I would love it if I was going to be sipping my Kir Royale at the Turtledove Cottage. A “bijou bolthole” in Shropshire England, which we can all enjoy and tour on on Modern Country Style.
As that will not be the case, I will settle for a little time exploring one of my new favorite blogs, Sanctuary. This blog is chalk full of beautiful images to loose a few hours of your time scrolling through.
The Vault File posted a fun DIY loafer project. I think this is something that even those of us who are slightly diy challenged could try.

The Conscious Perspective |
Heidi at the Conscious Perspective blog has profiled five inspiring books about social change, including the newly released, I Am Malala written by Malala Yousafzai who was shot by the Taliban for simply wanting an education.
Incidentally, Malala is the youngest person elected for the Nobel Peace prize which will be announced today. I am rooting for her because at 15 she has lived more and done more than many 4 times her age. She is a peace loving, tenacious young lady that I think it going to grow up to do great things
I know it might seem a little early to think about decorating for the holidays but if you are looking for some unique Christmas stockings, look no further than South House Designs. These beautiful stockings are handmade and come in many patterns and colors and have even been featured in Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Ideas which is on newsstands now.

This pumpkin yeast bread from The Keenan Cookbook is on my radar this weekend as the temperatures drop. To me nothing says Fall like a hot loaf of yeast bread fresh from the oven slathered with butter. You and find the recipe HERE.
What have you found this week that is interesting? A good book? A movie? A new blog? Please share it with us!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Have to check out the five books and those stockings are gorgeous!! But I am in denial that Christmas is two months away..yikes!!
Wishing you a wonderful and relaxed weekend…..
Such a lovely fall cocktail! I'll pop over and check out the recipe. I just took the tour of Turtledove Cottage and will pack my bags ASAP;) Happy Friday Elizabeth!
Elizabeth – thank you so much for sharing my post. What a gorgeous site you have here. I'll be back for sure 😉 xo
I have to read Malala's book. I have such admiration for her. Amazingly brave young woman, just an extraordinary thoughtful and brave person.
I love your Friday round ups! Now I need to go follow all the links! The recipes look yummy, although I am back on my diet after much over indulging in Europe.
I didn't get to the chocolate stores but did go to Poilane and brought home Punitons (also Laduree macarons). It was a wonderful trip, but odd to be in France with my non-drinking, no sugar eating SIL…I still ate too much, but she wasn't as in to seeking out all the best places as I would have liked! Thank you again for all the suggestions!
Have a lovely weekend, Elizabeth!!! xoxo
Good morning precious friend!
My Friday morning yesterday was wickedly BUSY! I got up earlier than usual to get ready for a meeting and I was unable to visit my favorite blogs (YOURS!) and here I am. Thank you for coming to visit me today! I was just cleaning my house to get it ready for a SCHOOL MEETING that is happening in my home today, on SATURDAY! I look forward to seeing my French teaching colleagues this morning in another setting other than school.
Oh you and me both; we are in our element as the gray days come electrified by the colors of pumpkins and golden leaves, the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg and that PUMPKIN YEAST BREAD LOOKS GREAT!
Enjoy a relaxing morning. Tonight, I am going to dig into some Alice Munro: THE MOONS OF JUPITER! Love, Anita
the bread and the stockings grabbed my attention…think I'll try and make some of those stockings for Christmas and the bread for me…thanks!
I'm late to your Friday round-ups but better late than never 🙂
Let's see, I loved those Christmas stockings and the sweet embellishments on the loafers. Because even though I'm only 5'2 I love wearing those comfy flats. And I shall have to check out the Conscious Perspective blog, it sounds like an interesting place.
