Keep Cozy, Blankets and Throws for Fall

October 11, 2013 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 13 Comments

Fall has returned, although I think it brought along a little of its friend Winter too. The lashing rain, grey sky and unrelenting winds are upon us. That means that I am in full “nesting” mode.

I have my flannel pi’s,  cashmere robe, slippers and a few of my throws ready and waiting for the weekend. Is there anything better than snuggling with your favorite blanket or throw as you lounge on your chaise or take in a movie or a game on the couch?

I am curious, what sort of the

ow or blanket do you prefer?

Are you a fan of a tartan wool throw?

A soft comfy cashmere throw? A down blanket? A quilt? I will admit that I am a fan of them all and in fact have a collecton of all of the above.

I love my cashmere throw for travel, or sitting in bed reading. My down throw is for watching movies on the couch, as it also happens to be the favorite of my pup too.

And the tartan is rugged and great for picnics, game day or while sitting on the porch watching the leaves fall.

There are many great throws this season, if  you are searching for one here are a few cashmere from Williams-Sonoma or perhaps a beautiful wool blanket from Coyuchi or Matouk?

Or for traditional tartan there is always Pendleton.

And a comfy knit from Pottery Barn.

Whatever your preference  I am sure that it will keep you comfy and cozy as the chill of winter slowly approaches. As always if you have suggestions or favorite sources for us please share in the comments.

I hope you have a great day!

Oooooo…..it looks like your pup is ready for the season! We are not, however. More hot temps today. I don't even know what to wear these days!

It's a bit chilly here this morning. First day I had to turn the heat on in the morning to take the chill out. Lovely choices for throws. Is that your dog? Is he a Dachshund? xo

Love this!! Today is a great day for a blanket and something toasty. In a perfect world I would stay home in flannel pjs, whip up something yummy and snuggly under a cozy blanket…but reality awaits and a chock full day of errands to be done in the cold rain!

It's been pouring in DC!!! And quite chilly! I turned the heat on last night, and brought out all the snugly throws. Looks like we'll need it this weekend.
    Stay warm and cozy 🙂

    A lot of different choices!

Here the fall colours are slow this year, but the temps are dropping by the day.

Our throws tend to be old quilts from my childhood and throws that I've crocheted. We love them. I wore my flannel pajamas for the first time this season last night! I'm in heaven.

As I'm a quilter I have to say all my quilts come out over the winter months, but I do have a crocheted rug made by my mother that I use on those days when it is not so cold, helps me to remember her.
