Good morning and happy Friday! I am happy to see the weekend as always but this one in particular because the bitter cold is getting to me. Not to mention that I am sort of dragging my feet into the new year. I just want to stay in this weekend, rest, relax and regroup.
Thankfully I have a great book, and a list of new blogs to explore. These are a few of my favorites for this week.

Di at Yonks is an incredibly talented writer and photographer and luckily she has recently started another blog Yonks Photography showcasing her stunning photos. Her photos are also for sale and you can find them here. I LOVE the photo above, it is magical.

Simone at The Bottom of the Ironing Basket is making plans for a few holidays this year and featured some beautiful apartment rentals from Kid & Coe. If you are looking for an alternative to a hotel on your next holiday you may want to check them out.

Naomi at Baker’s Royale made this Cranberry Coconut Quick Bread which I spotted on Pinterest. It is at the top of my list for treats to eat this weekend.

Holly at Decor 8 was one of the first blogs I discovered oh so many years ago. Since then I have taken three classes from her, read her book and always find beautiful and inspiring posts on her blog. This week was no exception and contains a great message for all bloggers to Resolve to Be Happy.
I discovered a new blog, April and May which I cannot wait to sit and explore.
Lastly, this week many of us suffered from the “polar vortex” and although it was freezing all of that cold produced some spectacular sights in nature. Visit this Link to see the “ice boulders” of Lake Michigan and here to see the famous Niagara Falls in all of her frozen glory.
These are just a few of the things I found this week while exploring the web, did you find anything interesting? A book, movie, blog? If so please share, we are always looking for something new and interesting.
I hope that you have a warm and cozy weekend!

Oh, I knew that you poor friends would be hit by what froze us here…whatever we get, you are sure to get in a few days. It was brutal, as you know now. But now we are experiencing a warm-up and soon you too my friend, will have to shed off those extra layers, as I did last night! I was literally sweltering wearing all the fleece!
Di is sensational, isn't she? I do not know the other bloggers, so I must check them out. Wishing you a great day! Anita

Anita,
It is freezing here! I am happy to see that you are warming up, but then again anything above -10 is a heatwave for you.
Di is fabulous, her photographs are magical. I LOVE all of her stag photos and her photos from Scotland.
I hope that you check out the other links, they are great.

Have you seen the BBC series
called The Paradise? I'd recorded
it in October and November, but
finally got around to watching it in
the evenings this week when my
hubby was out of town. I think you'd
love it, if you haven't seen it already.
There is a Season 2 in the works!
I love that photo you feature of Di's
work. I most definitely have to check
out her new site. The quick bread, the
link to Holly's blog….delightful. Thank you!
Thawed out hugs from Minnesota!

Hi Elizabeth…I hope your weather has warmed up a bit. It was nearly 60 here today but pouring down rain – we can't get a break! Thanks for all the links…I am on my way to check them out now. (I am behind because I was in the city all day yesterday for a conference). Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xoxo

It astounds me that Niagara had that much ice going on during the worst of the cold.
Cranberries are one of those things that go really nicely in baking.
