Valentine’s Surprise

Good morning! How was your Valentine’s Day? And your weekend? Mine was fabulous and incredibly special. I have not seen my husband since January 2, as I have been out of town for work and family obligations, and Friday he flew into town to be my Valentine.

Even after 19 years he can still surprise me; in fact the entire morning he had been sending me texts that he had taken ill and was going to spend the day napping. Being the worrier that I am I was concerned because I was not home to take care of him. After all, if you are going to be sick it is so much nicer when someone is there to get your medicine, make you something to eat and to try to make you feel better.

At work, my mother kept insisting that I needed to go to her house immediately to pick up some papers that she had left there. Thinking it odd that she couldn’t go herself  off I went reluctantly and as I walked into the house my husband came around the corner and said, “Happy Valentine’s Day!”. I was so shocked the first words out of my mouth were, “I thought you were sick?” It was a wonderful surprise and a very happy Valentine’s weekend.

Needless to say, I did not have a chance to watch Downton Abbey so I have no updates this morning. I am sorry but I will be watching it this evening. I am sure that it was filled with lots of surprises to keep up on our feet.

I am taking the day off to spend it with my husband but I will be back tomorrow. I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Lovely surprise Elizabeth, the very best kind! I think I would have said the same thing..in fact I recall an occasion where my husband flew from the UK where he was living to New Zealand, where we were living and rang the bell at the gate. I was astonished!

There are some surprises you never forget…

Sounds like you have a sweetheart…enjoy! xx
