La Fontaine Medicis Paris

March 7, 2014 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 7 Comments

Pull up a chair, and join me this morning in Paris. These past few weeks I have been sharing some of my favorite photos from Paris.

Today I wanted to show you my favorite place of all, La Fontaine Medicis in the Luxembourg Gardens.

I could spend hours here and often do reading and sipping a chocolat chaud.

Eating an eclair, one of many that I usually consume on my trips. On a side note, Gerard Mulot has some fabulous macarons and eclair chocolat to name but a few of the delectable treats they serve.

I take in each and every statue, cherub, pigeon or whatever else catches my eye.

I marvel at the reflections, the falling leaves, the moss covered urns, the simple elegant beauty of nature.

I aatch the people and their fashion, and sometimes I eves drop to try out my rusty French.

I laugh out loud at the ducks paddling around and searching for food, their little feet going as fast as they can like little propellers moving them across the surface.

I wonder about these two lovers, Acis and Galatea.  Why was Polyphemus spying on them? Was he in love with Galatea?  Did they have a happy ending?

I have so many memories of spending time with friends who are no longer here, taking my husband to visit on his first visit to Paris, and the conversations that I have shared with complete strangers who are in love with this magical fountain as much as I am.

Tell me, what is your favorite place in Paris? Do you too visit the Medicis Fountain? What is your favorite thing to do here? And your favorite place for eclair chocolat?

Enjoy and have a great day!

    That is an amazing fountain!

It is the first I have heard of it, but I can see its appeal.
