Friday Favorites from Collage of Life, Gwen Moss, Kimberly Taylor Images and More

May 11, 2014 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 7 Comments

Good morning! It’s Friday and I could not be happier. My husband has been traveling all week and arrives home tonight, I cannot wait to sit with a glass of wine and fill each other in on our weeks activities. Not to mention that it seems as if this week has been so  l-o-n-g. I only hope the weekend will feel just as long, only without all of the work.

Many that read blogs are also blog writers. I personally am always fascinated by the story behind blog and this week Jeanne at Collage of Life has written a beautiful post about how, why, when she started her blog. If you are not familiar with Jeanne, she is an incredibly talented writer and an ex-pat who has lived in Australia, New Zealand, England, the USA and Vietnam. Her blogs are filled with adventures, beautiful photography and of course writing.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day and Leslie at Gwen Moss featured the perfect gift for moms this week on her blog. I cannot wait to do it for mom own mother!

It is no secret that I LOVE France and I love to see it from the eyes of other bloggers. This week on Kimberly Taylor Images you can see Kimberly’s stunning photos from Two Weeks in France.

I know that I am not the only Pinterest addict and after spending a few productive hours on Pinterst this week I discovered this recipe for David Lebovitz Chocolate Cake on Veronica’s Cornucopia. I would love to make this this weekend!

Are you a fan of the blog Advanced Style? If so, check out this article about the new documentary Ari Seth Cohen made featuring beautiful stylish women in their 70′, 80’s and 90’s! I have never looked as good as these ladies, I think I might learn a few things from them.

I hope that you found something new here and as always if you found something fabulous this week, please share it!

Have a wonderful weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Oh Elizabeth, what can I say? You are such a dear friend, thank you so much for the shout out. And I'm so glad you might adapt the idea for your own mother. I know what a special woman she is from your past posts. I also enjoy these other bloggers, but I shall have to visit Advanced Style and meet a new friend. Happy Weekend!

“Learn to love and appreciate the good in others “Learn to love and appreciate the good in others.” Good afternoon friends, it’s the last day of February, which is called heart month, not only for Valentine’s Day but for heart health as well. Just because we are turning the calendar page doesn’t mean we should forget that A). We should love and appreciate each other and B). To take care of our hearts! Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death in women? Ladies if you don’t take care of yourself no one else can, eat right and get moving, cardio vascular exercise is great for your heart! This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray

Good afternoon friends, it’s a frigid day here. Good afternoon friends, it’s a frigid day here. How is it in your “neck of the woods?” We took a long road-trip a few weeks ago to the beautiful @colonialwmsburg . I love this place, there is so much to see and do and even wearing masks and social distancing you can still enjoy the history and the beauty of this living museum. Today I am home doing the weekend chores, and of course doing a little baking. I hope that you have a fabulous weekend. #colonialwilliamsburg #williamsburg #colonialhouse #livinghistory #livinghistorymuseum #museum #winterfun #roadtrip #wanderlust #weekend #weekendvibes #weekendmood
