Ice Cream Social: My 10 Favorite Recipes From Pinterest

July 10, 2014 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 4 Comments

Roasted Strawberry Ice Cream from Zoe Bakes

“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.” I have no idea where I learned that phrase but I do know that all of the kids in the neighborhood would say it when the music from the ice cream truck was heard in the neighborhood.

Andes Candies Mint Chip Ice Cream

I have been reminded of it almost every weekend when I am at the beach because without fail each time I have been at the beach, the ice cream truck rolls up with its music blaring and all sorts of kids, big and little take off running to get their money and get a treat.

Heavenly Hash Ice Cream from Cravings of a Lunatic

I have restrained myself from getting anything but it has had met thinking of making a batch or two of my own, after all what could be better on a hot, sultry day than a little cup of mint chip?

Caramel Pecan Chocolate Ripple Ice Cream from Kitchen Simplicity

Mint chip is my favorite, followed by dark chocolate, vanilla and then cookies and cream. Do you have a favorite ice cream flavor?

Vanilla Ice Cream from Yankee Magazine

I have been perusing Pinterest and compiled a few of my favorite recipe finds that you might want to try yourself. By the way, if you do not have an ice cream maker there are many recipes for “No-Churn” ice cream on Pinterest as well as from your favorite chefs, like Nigella Lawson.

Cherry Crisp Ice Cream from Annie’s Eats
The Bonjon Gourmet Smoked Cardamon Ice Cream with Salty Caramel

Did you see anything that you like? Do you have a favorite recipe of your own?

Chocolate Cookies and Cream Ice Cream from The Pastry Affair
Espresso Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

I have discovered a few that I would like to try, the only problem us that my husband is not a “sweet” eater and that will leave way to much ice cream goodness in the house to tempt me.

Trader Joe Jo’s Mint Ice Cream Pine Cones and Acorns

I hope that you have a fabulous day!

Cookies and cream, heavenly hash, but if I can find it on occasion, I love cherry cheesecake ice cream.

These look SO good, I love ice cream! I bought an ice cream maker some time ago which then sat in the cupboard for way too long before I finally used it….homemade ice cream is the best though, it does taste very good.

We all love different flavours in our family, which I guess works quite well in some ways…my daughter & my husband love sorbets & citrus flavours whereas my son & I love creamy flavours….a little chocolate but not too much. Salted caramel is my current favourite flavour….the best ice cream I ever had was in Rome, creme caramel….I have never forgotten it!!

You now have me craving ice cream!!

PS I have started a guest blog series called "Why I Live Where I Live", it's been running on my blog over the last few weeks….would you be interested in writing something for me? Absolutely no worries if you don't, we'll still be blog friends 🙂 Take a look at my blog to see some of the posts if you are interested….thank you! Xx

Mint chip is my favorite too! I haven't made homemade ice cream in a LONG time…this is an inspiration to pull out the ice cream maker! Hope you are having a lovely week, Elizabeth! xoxo

The first peaches of the season. These fuzzy, swee The first peaches of the season. These fuzzy, sweet peaches take me back to summer days as a child. We would go blueberry and peach picking with my grandmother and fill bushels of peaches to take home for her to bake with and the can for the winter. I’m not sure how much help we were because I am pretty sure that we are our body weight in peaches. We were a sticky mess by the end of the day with a belly full of Michigan’s finest peaches. Those were the days. #peaches #ncpeaches #thefirstpeachoftheyear #naturesfinest #summerfruit #peach #pineconesandacornsblog #memories
