My 15 Favorite Ways to Decorate Easter Eggs

April 3, 2015 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 9 Comments

Good morning to you! Today is April Fools day and my grandmothers birthday. In fact it is my grandmother and her twin sisters birthday. I am sure that my great grandfather who already had 9 children thought this was an April fools joke to be told he now had twin daughters! Sadly my grandmother Silvia and her Sister Jean Marie (who was a Notre Dame nun from the age of 16-80) are both gone but I have many happy memories of my time with them.

Drizzeled Easter Eggs from Better Homes and Gardens

Easter is Sunday and I feel like decorating a few eggs but I do not want to go the traditional route of a kit from the store. So I have searched Pinterest and the web and these are my 15 favorite ways to decorate Easter eggs.  I found everything from naturally dyed eggs, to glitter eggs, to tie dyed eggs and more.

Fabric Dyed Easter Eggs from Better Homes and Gardens
Speckled Eggs (using margarine) from Central Parent
Speckled Eggs from Craftberry Bush
Glitter Dots Simply Kierste
Blue & White Modge Podge Eggs from Town and Country Mom
Emoji Easter Eggs from Studio Dig
Water Color Eggs from For the Love of Home
Watercolor Ombre Easter Eggs from Craftberry Bush
Image from Your Home Based Mom
Sakura Egg from Craft Passion
Glitter Easter Eggs Better Homes and Gardens
Decoupage Egg from Craft Passion
Silk Tie Easter Eggs from Mommy Knows
Foiled Eggs from Martha Stewart

Will you be decorating any Easter eggs with your kids, grand-kids or with yourself? Do you have a favorite method of dying or decorating eggs? As always please share your techniques.

Have a great day!

An inspiring collection of eggs and techniques. We wrap our eggs in antique lace and then dye them with brown onion skins – a tradition that has been passed down through the German lineage of our family.

Happy April, Elizabeth! What a great story about your grandmother and her twin – no doubt your great grandfather thought someone was fooling him! I don't decorate eggs any more, but these are so beautfiul they almost inspire to do some just for fun! xoxo

Dear dear friend, HELLO! These are happy eggs and I can't wait for Easter; we go to the lake to see the sun rise, praise and pray, read the bible and read poetry. I can't think of any other way to spend it, but of course later, some eggs are fun to decorate and eat!

I hope you are well! LOVE TO YOU! ANita

I miss the days of decorating eggs with my children, they have grown and one is not even back for Easter this year. Those are wonderful examples!
