Good morning! Memorial Day is upon us, can you believe it? Time just seems to be flying by and Summer starts this weekend, pretty soon it is going to be Christmas. But let’s not think about that now, let’s celebrate Memorial Day and remember our Armed Service members, those who are active, our Vets and those who have paid the ultimate price.

I love to discover new books and this is an excellent food centric Spring reading list from Food Tanks. I am really looking forward to reading the book about apples, especially since I learned that there are over 700 varieties of apples grown all over the world. Who knew?
Did you find anything interesting this week in the world to share, a book, a movie or a recipe? If so please let me know and I will add it to my links.
I hope that you have a wonderful, safe weekend and please, if you should see a soldier, thank them for all of their hard work and sacrifices. I would appreciate it as the sister of a former soldier and I am sure that they would as well.

Strawberry Rhubarb pie is my favorite! It truly reminds me of my time in Ireland as a little girl and the next door neighbor made the best pie ever!! Have a great weekend!
700 apples??? Who knew! I always leave here hungry. I "tagged' you on my post just put up:) Happy holiday weekend!
In a pie or tart with strawberries is about the only way I'll have rhubarb. By itself it doesn't suit me.
Oh my I am going to have to try those rhubarb numbers! I am always afraid to make bread (I have always failed in that department) but those hoagie rolls would be fabulous with pulled pork!!
I love your Friday faves! Enjoy the long weekend!! xoxo
Happy holiday weekend Elizabeth.
The strawberry rhubarb tarts look delicious.
Thanks for visiting me
