Friday Favorites from Patricia Wells, Home Bunch, Privet & Holly and More

August 9, 2015 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 6 Comments

Good morning! Summer is nearing an end, as I see school supplies in the stores and school buses rumbling down the street. I myself am trying to squeeze every last second out of the warm weather, weekend excursions, walks at the ocean and eating as many fuzzy peaches as I can. Before you warn me about the peach fuzz being infected with pesticides, I wash them thoroughly and frankly a peach would not be a peach without the fussy skin.

Its funny because summer has never been one of my favorite seasons but as I age, I find myself enjoying it much more. Perhaps it is because I do not have to go back to school at the end of it?

I have been a little lax this summer about posting my Friday Favorites but I am back with a few today.

I LOVE Patrica Wells and her cookbooks. I was delighted to discover her blog recently, check out this fabulous Cobb Salad that would be a perfect summer lunch.

For those of you who love beach house living, check out this fabulous house featured on Home Bunch for sale in the Hampton’s by Sothebys.

Suzanne at Privet & Holly is one of my favorite bloggers and this week wrote a fabulous post called, Little Us. Check it out, I think you will enjoy the reminder that we were all little at some point.

Another great reminder this week from Simple, style & Spirit to relax and READ. After all the summer days are winding down fast and soon it will be winter.

And of course I could not end without something sweet. Peach Crumble Bars from Sweet Peas Kitchen look and sound to me like the perfect dessert for the weekend! After all I am trying to eat my weight in peaches over the next couple of weeks.

If you missed my Mixed Berry Coffee Cake with Crumble Topping you can find the recipe HERE.

Or if you should find yourself with a few leftover chocolate chip cookies, check out this fabulous Chocolate Chip Cookie Bread Pudding from Once Upon A Chocolate Life.

I hope that you have a fabulous weekend! Be safe and enjoy.

I know that summers are getting more magical and precious for me as I AGE. I seem to be going in reverse here; instead of growing OLD, I am growing younger in heart every year. Maybe it's because I know summer doesn't last forever…..

Elizabeth.. my hubby used to be a chef and hoards cookbooks. Patricia Wells is definitely the head of his hit parade. A dinner party that we recently attended the hostess served Patricia Wells potato salad which was to-die-for. Thanks for the last delicious image – I am now drooling all over my computer. Have a wonderful weekend, Elizabeth!

Good morning friends! We’ve had a lazy start to Good morning friends! We’ve had a lazy start to the weekend, it was raining when we woke up and that did not inspire me to hop out of bed to work around the house or the yard. Now the sun is shining and I am feeling so relaxed I don’t want to go outside. I’ve been perusing Pinterest and Instagram and there is so much inspiration for Spring and summer. I want to repaint a few rooms in the house(even through I don’t like painting) I want to plant a huge garden and have a wildflower meadow, I’ve found at least 30 recipes to try and I want to order at least 10 dresses from various stores. I better rein myself in before I do some serious damage to my wallet. Tell me what are you doing this morning? If you are relaxing with a cup of coffee come over to the blog and check out all of my favorites from around the web this week. I have book recommendations, recipes, fashion finds and more. Have a happy Saturday. #saturdayvibes #saturdaymorning #saturday #weekendvibes #weekend #flowers #springdecor #spring #springstyle #cherryblossom

Good evening friends, I hope you had a great day! Good evening friends, I hope you had a great day! I’ve been experimenting with plants and branches from my yard to make an Easter arrangement. I wanted tulips but there was a man at the store that asked me to point out the tulips for him, he told me his wife sent him to but them all up. I think she probably specified a certain color and he missed that part of the instructions, either that or they were going for and arrangement of every color of the rainbow. In any case there was nothing left for me except one package of cabbage looking things so off I went to the yard to forage. I added a moss covered bunny and some eggs and I am ready. Today on the blog I am sharing some of my favorite Easter memories, happy times spent with my grandparents and siblings and more. What is you happiest Easter memory? Please share it here or on the blog.
