Good morning! Happy weekend! I am so excited for the weekend because there will be lots of food, fun, family, Fall and more. The perfect weekend!
I had a busy week and I spent most of my free time looking at recipes to try at this Fall and for the holidays. I like to test things a few times before I serve it to guests, a lesson that I learned from Ina Garten. So, I should warn you that this weeks Friday Favorite’s will consists mostly of food.

Speaking of Ina, this week I was searching for an easy, lemon chicken recipe and this one from Ina Garten is fabulous! I served it with a green salad and brown rice and it was an easy weeknight dinner.

Belleau Kitchen |
I love to bake but most of the time I make sweet things, this week I discovered a savory apple pie that I cannot wait to try. It is from Belleau Kitchen and is an Bramley Apple and Sausage Pie. Doesn’t this look scrumptious?

Everyday Occasions |
Apples and pork are a great combination in the Fall, this week Jenny at Everyday Occasions featured Roasted Pork Loin with Apples and Onions, Cheddar grits and Autumn Salad. This would make a beautiful, and tasty Sunday lunch.

Of course I could not end the week without featuring something sweet and this Cinnamon Apple Crumb Cake by OMG Chocolate Desserts seems like the perfect sweet treat to try this Saturday morning.

GOod morning Elizabeth! Always a treat to find in your blog! Enjoy this wonderful Friday. Anita
You always make me want to get in the kitchen and cook my days away (something I have not done in a while because of my bad arm)…I think I might just do it this afternoon! Wishing you a beautiful weekend, Elizabeth! xoxo
That cinnamon apple cake looks to die for!
These all look so delish Elizabeth! I always love my Friday visits here. I hope you are enjoying your October so far….

I finished a novel, "Kitchens of the
Great Midwest," which had a food
theme running through it but was
a story with a lot of great characters
and also included some recipes : )
I often catch NPR's "The Splendid
Table" on Saturday mornings, and
I think it's available as a podcast, too.
Always inspiring!
I think this is my favorite
time of year to cook and to
try new recipes, too. I know
your guests will be treated
like royalty — lucky them!
Happy Friday,
xo Suzanne
We get Ina over here, on a cooking channel, and I have enjoyed her shows very much, especially the bits inbetween cooking when you see her lifestyle. Summer is defininitely over, once the urge to cook with varying types of pork and apple comes over you! I tend to make things up or rely on my old 1950s Good Housekeeping Bible, never fails for baking.
