Pamper Yourself at the Holidays with Perfect Linens

November 29, 2015 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 4 Comments

Good morning! How was your Thanksgiving? I ate way too much but we had a fabulous time cooking, baking and just being together.

I know that Christmas is the time of giving and doing for others.  It isn’t supposed to be about us but I personally think that during the holidays more that ever we need to do something special for ourselves.  After all, in my house I am in charge of the baking, the shopping, the cards, the shipping, the decorating and more.

Recently I was approached by Perfect Linens to review their Second Skin, 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. I was offered a choice of three embroidered sets and I chose the Blue Double Stripe. These sheets fit in perfectly with the scheme for my new blue master bedroom which I told you about a few weeks ago.

To me shopping for sheets is always a challenging task. I can never find sheets soft enough, warm enough and yet still cool, or for that mater that fit my pillow top mattress. I have to be honest, I was a little  skeptical about accepting  a pair of sheets that I had not chosen myself.

According to Perfect Linens “Second Skin’s” outstanding softness is the result of a natural enzyme process which removes molecules from the cell walls of the cotton, making the fibers easier to bend. The enzyme process is permanent so the exceptional softness cannot wash out. Sateen-weave, with fewer yarn-locking intersections per square inch, reduces stiffness further.

Durable 400-threadcount Egyptian cotton construction is mid-weight and ensures dependable wear. Made in Portugal.

  • Enzyme-treated 100% Egyptian cotton
  • 400-threadcount sateen
  • Generously oversized

With the above in mind I accepted a set a sheets for review. The sheets arrived simply but nicely packaged along with linen wash and instructions on how to launder and care for the sheets. Perfect Linens recommends that you take the sheets out of the dryer while still damp to minimize wrinkles. That has never been a problem for me because my mom taught me to iron my sheets and pillow cases. This step will now save me some time.

To say that I love these sheets would be an understatement. Right out of the package they are soft, silky  and smooth, once you wash them they are even more soft and comfy. They are like snuggling into a soft, warm cocoon  on a cold night and yet they keep you cool at the same time, which is always a good thing at my age.

I also love that the sheets are generously sized and fit my pillow top mattress perfect. My husband is a restless sleeper and frequently his fitted sheet comes loose in the middle of the night, not so with Perfect Linens. The deep fired sheets stay in place with my restless husband and two pups walking around all night.

Just in time for a little Black Friday shopping you can get $35.00 off your purchase of $100.00 or more. Please use the code PineCones35 if you would like to try a set of these soft comfy, cosy, sheets for yourself .

Have a happy, safe weekend. If you will be out shopping the salesI hope that you find lots of great buys!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free in the hope that I would review it on my blog. Good morning dear Elizabeth! You too, you ate too much? HAHAHHAH wow, I ate about two portions of turkey, and that, I never do during the rest of the year, but it was too good to pass up. Then I ate TONS of roasted chestnuts, a weakness of mine!

Oh how gorgeous these sheets must be. I recently came across 1000 count sheets and are they ever special. The softness and yes like you said, a coolness but at the same time, a warmth that envelopes you as you sleep. The little luxuries are special!

Well my friend, have a fun day whether you shop or just relax.

Good morning friends! I need prayers, lots of pray Good morning friends! I need prayers, lots of prayers. My nephew was hit by a car on Thursday while riding his bike. To respect my brothers wishes I can’t say more. I believe in the power of pray and I would appreciate it tremendously if you could pray for my nephews full recovery as well as for his parents who are by his side. Sadly because of Covid they cannot be with him together at the same time. Thank you friends I appreciate this more than I can say. Have a wonderful day and remember life is fragile, it changes in an instant, hug your kids, your parents, your friends, family and pets. #powerinprayer #prayer #prayers #thereispowerinprayer #lifelately #spring #birds #birdsofinstagram

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray
