Christmas Season Bucket List

December 4, 2015 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 11 Comments

It is full speed ahead here at my house to Christmas. I love Christmas, for so many reasons but mostly because it seems as if people slow down, take it easy and am looking forward to spending time just relaxing and taking in the season. I have my shopping and wrapping finished, now that that is out of the way an I can concentrate on other things.

I have made a Christmas Season Bucket List of the 25 things I want to do this holiday season.

1. Drink hot chocolate by the fire.

2. Drive around town to look at the lights.

3. Visit the botanical gardens.

4. Watch White Christmas and Elf.

5. Listen to holiday tunes.

6. Buy toys for the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots

7. Make a bouche de noel.

8. Decorate the Christmas tree.

9. Make and decorate cookies for friends and family.

10. Make a magnolia leaf wreath

11. Go caroling

12. Do something nice for a neighbor

13. Go on a sleigh ride

14. Send Christmas Cards

15. Make a snow angel

16. Open pj’s on Christmas Eve

Gingerbread Cabin from 3 Pixie Lane

17. See the Nutcracker

18. Read the Christmas Story from Luke 2

19. Go ice skating

20. Roast Chestnuts

21. Make a gingerbread house

22. Read The Night Before Christmas and The Christmas Carol.

23. See a live naivety

24. Attend Midnight mass

Cranberry Almond Coffee Cake

25. Make a special Christmas morning breakfast

What are your plans for the holiday season? Do you have plans to slow down, rest, relax and take in all of the lights, shows, etc? Will yo be baking, cooking or caroling? Whatever you do, I hope that you enjoy the season for what it is, a time to live, love, relax, and to enjoy the time with your family and friends.

Have a great day!

Elizabeth you have the best ideas, I love coming up with a bucket list for the Christmas season. I think I'll borrow some of your easier ones. Drinking hot chocolate by a fireplace is one I can definitely get done. But I'll have to make a shorter list since we're leaving town again. And our house is still in flux since we got our new flooring. Somehow my lesson always seems to be about letting go of expectations haha. I'm so impressed that your shopping is already finished.

Ah…..it's these little things that truly make me happy at this time. My husband is now really looking forward to the weekend to see the reindeer in town! Let's turn into children now, with grown up wisdom and have FUN!

Wonderful list! I'm glad to see another fan of "White Christmas." I also like to watch all the versions of "A Christmas Carol." And, make ginger cookies using a 19th century recipe that calls for bacon grease. I use lard instead.

My Holiday Bucket List is similar to yours and I will add viewing It's A Wonderful Life, a must for our family, attending a Christmas Carol production and eating some Texas tamales. Not much snow is expected in the Atlanta area so a sleigh ride is probally out and I wouldn't attempt to ice skate at this point of my life, but I plan to be a spectator at a local ice skating ring. Enjoy the bouche de noel for me.

Elizabeth, what a great list! So many of these are on my list also. If only the month were twice as long. I hope you get to all of them. Enjoy the season!

Your list is fabulous; love that you have so many ideas that run the gamut…everyone can find something that'll work for them…and others. And that coffee cake…oh my…I could be persuaded to have a slice.

Elizabeth, I am envious your shopping is complete. In fact, I have hardly even begun…this is my yearly Christmas stress. Your list is fabulous…I hope you will share all that you experience. Hugs!
