Good morning! Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week, I did and am so looking forward to the weekend. I have my first cold of the season and I am so tired of blowing my nose, sneezing and coughing. I need a rest. Which is exactly what I plan to do what about you?
Velvet & Linen |
I know that many of you are fans of Brooke and Steve’s beautiful blog Velvet & Linen but did you know that this week they announced the pre-sale of their new book Patina Farm? You can order it now on Amazon.

I am always in search of some thing to read and enjoy suggestions from other bloggers. This week while reading Dinner: A Love Story Andy posted about a book When Breath Becomes Air. His post literally took my breath away and all could think was WOW! I have my copy on order and cannot wait to read about the extraordinary life of Dr. Paul Kalanithi.
Cookies & Cups |
As I said Monday, although I ate my fill of cookies, cheese, chocolate and all sorts of stuff that is not in my daily diet I am not ready to jump right into the healthy eating and juice cleanses. Now that Winter is setting in here my body is craving a little comfort food, like soups, stews and casseroles. I cannot wait to try this Salsa Verde Chicken Casserole from Cookies & Cups, after all what could be better on a cold day than a cheesy, Tex-Mex casserole?

Lately I have read several blog post and articles about the “death of blogs”, oddly it seems as if I have read things like that for the last 3 years. I realize that Snapchat, Instagram and other forms of social media are wildly popular but I think there is room for all of them. I personally enjoy blogs and finding new ones, and this week I discovered Ambrosia written and photographed by Nina. If you like food and beautiful photos follow this link.
In many parts of the country the “polar vortex” is on its way and I think sitting home with a nice stack of books and a cup or two of hot chocolate is the perfect way to stay warm and cosy. If you are looking for the perfect hot chocolate, hot cocoa, chocolat chaud or any beverage containing chocolate than visit my Hot Chocolate Pinterest Board where you will find well over 300 different recipes.
I hope that you have a safe and wonderful weekend. Enjoy!

Colds can be such a nuisance… I'm still dealing with the aftermath of one.

Love this post as this is also what I intend to do this weekend; a weekend lockdown with books, glossy magazines and comfort food 😉 Loved reading your About Me page. What a fabulous background you have. This is why I love blogging because you do end up meeting the most incredible women whose paths you would never normally cross. Thank you so much for your lovely comments over at mine; so appreciated xx
