Friday Favorites from Food Charlatan, This is Glamorous, Spiced, Pizzazzerie and More

July 9, 2016 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 5 Comments

Good morning! How has your week been? I have to be honest, I have been dragging. Three day weekends do that to me, add to that my family visiting for the next two weeks and I am so excited I am like a kid the night before Christmas. I did not want to work this week but I persevered and now I am ready for the guest to arrive. I will be at the beach, out on my board, shopping, enjoying my mom and niece and so much more!

One of the things that my family and I love to do is cook and bake and we will be doing a lot of that, including a few of the following.

Image from The Food Charlatan

Summer is all about fresh food and this tomato tart with blue cheese from The Food Charlatan is the perfect way to showcase the beautiful fresh tomatoes from my farmers market.

Grilled Flank Steak from Spiced Blog

Are you looking for an easy summer dinner idea? Than look no further than these Grilled Flank Steak Tacos from Spiced. I will be making these for my guests this week.

Morning Buns

My mom loves to bake and cook just as I do and I cannot wait to have her make me a huge pan of Morning Buns or maybe even some Pecan Rolls.

Rhubarb Basil Cocktail from The Kitchen

Are you looking for a new cocktail to try this summer? I typically make mojitos or blush lilies, but I think I will be making this Rhubarb Basil Cocktail from The Kitchen.

This is Glamorous

I love the beautiful mix of casual and sophisticated design in this beautiful house featured on This is Glamorous.

Clam Bake from Pizzazzerie

I recently discovered a great entertaining blog called Pizzazzerie, written by Courtney. I love all of the beautiful party ideas, photos and recipes and you might too!

I hope that you have a great weekend! Enjoy!

That tomato tart is gorgeous. I have to take an appetizer to a party tomorrow and plan to make an upside-down tomato tart. If it turns out, I'll share the recipe (I make it a lot, but I've never photographed it before, so we'll see how that goes!). I will take a leaf, as they say, from this one and garnish it with fresh basil. Thanks for the inspiration!

Summer has been glorious for me. Staying home, enjoying the sunshine, playing in the garden, making small discoveries. I haven't made HUGE progress as I had wished, but those small discoveries are the process I've learn to embrace. Enjoy the love of your family dearest Elizabeth!
