Just Curious…What is on Your Winter Bucket List

December 16, 2016 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 8 Comments

Good morning! I hope that you are having a good week. I cannot believe that we are 11 days away from Christmas. Are you ready? I have a lot of baking and candy making to do this week so that I can send it to the recipients next week. Aside from that, everything else is finished, the house is decorated  and the presents are wrapped.

Winter seems to be roaring across the country, in fact the news mentioned this morning that 100 million people will be affected by the snow storm and cold in the coming days, stay safe and warm if you are in its path.  As with summer and fall I like to make a list of things I want to do in the coming months, a little bucket list as they say. Do you do the same? If so I am curious, what is on your winter bucket list.

Here are a few of the things I have on my bucket list:

Snow on Christmas

Make a snow angel

Go ice skating

Build a snowman

Sit by the fire with a stack of books and drink copious amounts of cocoa

Make a buche de Noel

Start a new tradition

Practice random acts of kindness

Have a winter picnic

Make a gingerbread house

Go snow shoeing

These are just a small sampling of things from my Winter bucket list as I understand it is going to be a long cold one.

I hope that you have a fabulous day! Thanks for sharing!

I hope we'll get to take our kid skiing. It was 50 degrees at 6 a.m., supposed to get into the low 60s today, so we won't have snow here anytime soon. But mountains are just a two-hour drive away. I've never skied, but I like to see the snow for at least one day.
BTW, it's bûche de noël–a bouche is a mouth and a bûche is a log. To Americans, they sound the same (and I still have a hard time to say the u correctly) but to the French, there's a world of difference between ou (like in you) vs. u (like ew! well, kind of). Good luck with it! They're a lot of work, but worth it.

    Hello Elizabeth,
Your list sounds perfect and what a super idea to make a list. You have given me a project and I shall be thinking of this today as I paint.
We have a full house on Christmas Day and it is as we love it.

We have snow on the ground, and consistent cold, so odds are it's here to stay for a good long while. Here we have a winter festival in February, Winterlude, which features ice and snow sculptures, winter activities, and skating on the Rideau Canal. It brings in visitors from all over the world.
