Pumpkin Soup with Chorizo |
It”s September and the blogs and Pinterest have been featuring Fall decor, recipes and more for a few weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I love Fall but as I have said I am trying to “live in the moment” or season as the case may be so I am easing my way into the season.

Pumpkin Bread |
I have been a chocolate lover my entire life and in fact have another blog called Once Upon a Chocolate Life but to be honest pumpkin spice is my favorite flavor ever. I could eat pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumkin mac and cheese, pumpkin soup and everything and anything containing pumpkin spice all year long I love it that much. Although, I do not like pumpkin spiced latte, or #PSL as the millennials’ refer to it but that is only because I do not like or drink coffee.

With that my question to you is, are you a pumping spice lover? Pumpkin itself is a neutral flavor that is why they add it to so many things, but pumpkin spice is a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, allspice and mace. That heady and fragrant combination adds so much flavor to pies, breads, cakes, and even savory dishes.

What is your favorite pumpkin spice dessert? Pie, cookies, brownies, cheesecake? And what about a savory dish, soup, pasta, roasted pumpkin, salads or something entirely different?
I would also like to welcome you to share a recipe or two, perhaps your family has passed along a recipe that you cherish?
If you would like to know a little about the history of Pumpkin Spice this is a great article.
Have a great day!

When I made pumpkin pie for friends in France, they were shocked because pumpkin is considered a savory vegetable. (I got similar reactions with zucchini bread and carrot cake.) I love cinnamon, but I don't want to taste or smell it everywhere. It's definitely a treat from time to time in the fall.
Hello Elizabeth… Why do I always drool when I come to your site?? I am a confirmed chocoholic, however I have been known to cheat on my beloved if pumpkin is in the room. That pumpkin bread pudding has my name all over it!!
Living in Florida all year we use food "smells" to create our fall and winter! So yes this one is important to us. I make a savory pumpkin pie which hits all the boxes.
I'm kind of boring since I really haven't had much of anything pumpkin except for pie! And I do love pumpkin pie. I am writing down your recipe for pumpkin spice. I know it will smell delectable!

I like pumpkin in baking. I've never tried one of those lattes Starbucks starts selling on the first of September.
