Friday Favorites from Buy This Cook That, My Modern Met, Design Crush, Wit and Delight and More

February 3, 2018 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 2 Comments

Good morning! Happy Friday and happy February. We are one month closer to Spring and I am happy about that because for one of the few times in my life I am tired of winter. Its been so cold here this winter that frankly I am a slug and it takes everything I have to get up in the morning to go to yoga. Once I finish I rush home and then I hunker down and do not leave the house unless I absolutely have to.

This weekend is the 52nd Super Bowl and I cannot wait for the commercials and some tasty treats. Will you be watching? Do you have any interesting food that you will be making?

Food Finds

Beer Pulled Pork Nachos Recipe Baker’s Royals Image Design Crush

Last week I shared a few things you might want to make for the Super Bowl, today I thought I would share a few more and the first is a list of 15 Nacho’s. Chips, cheese and more, does it get any better. Brown Eyed Bake posted Epic Loaded Nachos that you might want to check out as well.

If you like potato chips and dip than this Sour cream and Cheddar French Onion Dip from Buy This Cook That, could be something for your menu.

Education Finds

It is the start of the weekend and I know that many dread Mondays, this article Learn How to Love Monday’s Again might need to be on our reading this this weekend.

Typically the New Year is all about improving ourselves, if you are not one of the many who have already given up check out this list of 35 Books That Will Make You A Better Person.

For those of you who like podcasts, here is a list from Spell & The Gypsy of a few that you might not already listen too.

I love Dolly Parton and enjoyed this article Life Lessons from the Most Feminine Feminist Dolly Parton.

I don’t know about you but I really hate listening to people who have clearly had “work done” drone on about how they stay young and youthful. OLDUSKA is a modeling agency that only hires people over 45, real people with natural beauty. This just proves that age is only a number.

I watched 2 episodes of a documentary this week called Ways To School and I cannot get it out of my mind. Frankly I think it should be a mandatory requirement for every student in the USA to watch it every year! I hope that you watch this documentary because you will never forget these kids and the challenges they face to get an education. You can get more information about the 26 episodes and the Ways to School Organization by clicking here.

Holiday Finds

If you are looking for a simple decoration for Valentine’s Day, Clean & Scentsible has some great free printables.

Today we are gearing up for more snow and a long cold weekend so I will be inside enjoying not only my Friday Favorites but anything that you found and would like to share as well!

I hope that you have a wonderful and safe weekend.

At least the days are getting longer. I like being able to drive while it's still light.
We can hope that the huge cohort of baby boomers will change attitudes about aging. The median age (half of people are above and half below) is now 37 in the U.S. and will be 43 by 2060. Not everybody can afford facelifts or even Botox, and even among those who can, not everybody is comfortable with them.
    Those nachos look amazing!

I dislike football, so I'm going to go see a movie on Sunday.
