If you have followed me for any length of time than you know that I love to bake. So I thought I would put together my 5 favorite finds that I actually use for baking.
My 5 finds for the day are a colorful spatula form one of my favorite stores, a set of versatile Pyrex bowls to use for mixing, melting and more, vanilla bean paste which I use all the time in sweet and savory dishes, a KitchenAid Mixer, the workhourse of my kitchen. y mom gave me and my siblings one for our 21st birthdays and I still have mine and use it all the time. By the way KitchenAid is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and it has even issued a special model in case you want to get one for a friend or loved one for Christmas! And last but not least my 2 favorite cookbooks, The Joy of Cooking and James Beard American Cookery.
Are you a baker? Do you have any favorite baking tools that you use often? If so please share your favorites.
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement about the hurricane I am prepared and now it is time to just wait and see what happens. I hope that everyone in the path of the hurricane stays safe. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Good luck with Florence.
What is the cake in the top photo? It's so intriguing. I am guessing something with chocolate, caramels and nuts.
I have my mother's KitchenAid, from 1985. Runs like a charm.

I still have my first KitchenAid from 1994. Fabulous machine. My only true baking love is parchment paper. Such a game changer for cookies and scones. Also, measuring things out. I was a 'throw things in the pan and hope' baker until I realized it was simple chemistry! Stay safe.

I just purchased the vanilla bean paste at a baking class with our granddaughter who is a baker. Hubs is enjoying it in his oatmeal each am. It's on the counter with small containers of nuts choc chips. Love it when everyday items are part of the decor!

A colourful spatula. I don't do any baking, really, though I pick it up regularly at bake shops.
