Good morning! I hope that your week is going well. Things here are operating on an hour to hour, news update timetable. We are still unsure about hurricane Florence and are prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. As of this morning we are not in its direct path but are in for a lot of rain, winds and flooding, there is a mandatory evacuation for one zone and thankfully I am not in it. If you have never been in a hurricane affected area there is a lot of uncertainty, preparation, and waiting, not to mention anxiety and that is all before the storm even reaches your shores. Once it arrives there wind and water, things flying around, non-stop news reports and anxiety mixed in with prayers.
I have been trying to distract myself with work, reading and decluttering. As I am tired of those three activities I am online perusing some of my favorite sights. I wish I was baking but it is in the high 90’s and I do not wait to heat up the house just in case we loose power.
I discovered artist Kristi Kohut on Instagram and was drawn to her colorful pieces As I have mentioned before I love modern colorful art and her pieces suit my style.

Kristi says this about her art:
MY WORK IS INFLUENCED BY COLOR AND PATTERN IN THE WORLD ALL AROUND US. A PERMEATING CRACK ON THE SIDEWALK, THE VIBRANT LAYERS OF AGATE ROCK, THE EXOTIC CLOTHING OF A FARAWAY PLACE, ARE MY MUSES. I LOVE THE COLOR AND EFFECT CREATED WHEN UNEXPECTED COLORS AND TEXTURES ARE COMBINED. THE GLOSSINESS OF AN ACRYLIC PAINT NEXT TO THE CHALKY TEXTURE OF A PASTEL. OR AN IRIDESCENT BLEND NEXT TO A THICK, VELVETY SMUDGE OF OIL PIGMENT.
