Friday Favorites from Spend with Pennies, All That’s Jas, Inside the Rustic Kitchen and More

Good morning! I hope that you have had a great week. It has been a little nerve wracking here at times with the weather thankfully we are not going to have it as bad as they said, sadly for my friends and family in North Carolina it is still going to be as bad as they said. Please keep all on the path of Florence in our thoughts and prayers.

It seems trivial while so many are in danger to write a Friday favorites post but perhaps it will be a distraction from the howling winds and rain.

Food

Although it is hot and humid here we are inching towards Fall and that has me thinking of tartan slippers, my comfy throw blanket, a steaming cup of cocoa and a good book while snuggling with my pups by the fire.

Image All That’s Jas

It also has me thinking of comfort food and one of my favorites is Greek Pastitisio, this recipe from All That’s Jas makes it look easy and delicious.

This Tomato Pasta Bake from Inside the Rustic Kitchen also looks like the perfect meal on a cool day and for leftovers the net.

Pumpkin Praline Pie

Of course pumpkin spice is a favorite flavor for Fall, this Pumpkin Praline Pie form Spend with Pennies is at the top of my list for Fall baking.

As are these Pumpkin pancakes which are easy to make and only requite a skillet.

If you like pumpkin spice here are 30 Ways to Get your Fix.

You can also check out my Fall Baking Pinterest Board for lots of great ideas.

I love Fall and have resisted buying anything for it because I already has stuff that I love but honestly I cannot resist these cute things from Sur la Table.I  love this mug, these napkins and this Staub pumpkin!

I hope that you have a fabulous and safe weekend. Please share your recipes, podcasts, recipes and whatever else you found this week.

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray

How is it in your “neck of the woods?” We took a long road-trip a few weeks ago to the beautiful @colonialwmsburg . I love this place, there is so much to see and do and even wearing masks and social distancing you can still enjoy the history and the beauty of this living museum. Today I am home doing the weekend chores, and of course doing a little baking.
