Good morning! I hope that your Saturday is starting well. Did you sleep in? Or were you up at at em at the crack of dawn? We were up fairly early because the pups like to start the day early and we had an appointment with a contractor who was supposed to come at 9:00, apparently he is running late because I am still waiting.
In the meantime I am enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and perusing two new cookbooks and the best pumpkin magazine I have found so far this season. What could be better than 100 recipes featuring pumpkin?
Maybe cookies? If you love to bake cookies than you will want to get The Cookie Book by Rebecca Firth writer and photographer of the blog The Displaced Housewife. I was sent a copy to review and I cannot tell you how much I love it! The photos are beautiful and the recipes are easy to follow. There are 75 recipes including 9 variations on my favorite the chocolate chip cookie. There is even a chapter devoted to Christmas cookies all of which look delicious and are now on my list to make during the holidays. The book comes out on September 18th but you can always pre-order it here. By the way it is the #1 selling new release in cookie baking on Amazon.
The other book I am perusing is Bonjour Y’all! by Heidi Vukov. The book is filled with sweet and savory dishes served at one of my favorite Myrtle Beach bakeries, Croissants bakery and bistro. I have already made the brownies three times and they are fudgy and perfect. Next on my list is the bananas foster french toast and then on to the soups.
That’s what happening here what about you? Any plans for the day?
Have a great weekend.

It's a fairly quiet day here. Have a good weekend.
