Friday Favorites from How Sweet Eats, With Food + Love, Lucinda Pantry, NPR and More

November 10, 2018 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 3 Comments

Good morning! I hope that you have had a great week. Mine has been great. The weather has been beautiful, the mid-term elections are over and I am looking forward to the weekend as I have a lot planned.

Interesting Food

Image How Sweet Eats

In the Fall I try to eat as much  butternut squash as I can and I am always looking for new recipes to try using it, this Butternut Squash Sage Pizza look like something I am going to have to try.

Soup is always a good idea in the Fall, especially if it is pumpkin. This Caramelized Onion Pumpkin Soup sounds delicious!

Pumpkin Cinnamon Twist

Doesn’t this Pumpkin Cinnamon Twist from Lucinda Pantry look delicious? I think it would be a great treat for weekend breakfast.

My favorite sweet treat is a doughnut and although I do not make them often I think I might make these Swedish Doughnuts soon.

Interesting Books

I cannot wait to start baking my way through The Model Bakery, first up the Bear Claws which I have been dreaming about since I had them years ago and this fabulous bakery.  You can to for only $1.98 on Kindle.

In a French Kitchen. I purchased this on a recommendation from another blogger, has anyone else read it or baked from it?

Tartan Shoes

I love tartan, I could wear it everyday. I just ordered these shoes and I love them. If you prefer a darker plaid than you might like these.

If you would like something a little more fancy than you might like these mules.

Hunter boot fans you might like this new quilted style boot. It is now 35% off!

Cute Mug, pair with coco or tea and you have a great secret Santa gift. Or just a cute mug for yourself.

I hope that you have a happy and safe weekend. As always, please share your favorite recipes, books, movies and whatever else you enjoyed this week.

The biological clock article really hit me. My parents started late for their era–my mom was 35 when she had me, her first of four children. I had my first and only child in my mid-40s. I did think a lot about what age I would be when my child was in college, etc. OTOH, I know friends who had to take care of both their parents and their grandparents, who were barely 20 years apart in age. I do know that, feeling the preciousness of time, I appreciate every minute much more.

I love butternut squash too! Every single recipe here is something I want to try, printed out several to begin with. Our weekend was wonderful with our youngest son and his family coming in to stay with us. Just watching our 6 year old and almost 4 year old granddaughters play and laugh and talk was the best treat ever. And we're finally getting some really cold weather here in Nashville this weekend so my first pot of chili of the season is planned. Leaves are still gorgeous here. My favorite tv shows I watched this week are 4 episodes of Salt Fat Acid Heat on Netflix. And I've begun reading Christmas books.

A lovely week, as are all of your pretty things here today!
