My Thanksgiving Table

Good morning! I hope that you are having a great week. Mine has been busy and I although I am not wishing away the week but I am looking forward to the weekend.

SaturdayI shared 10 of my favorite holiday dinnerware sets and many of you emailed to ask about Thanksgiving dinnerware. To be honest, more often than not I use my everyday items for the holidays and parties and then add seasonal touches.

I use white dinner plates for everyday, Ina Garten mentioned that years ago and it stuck in my mind, they are a great neutral background to add seasonal salad plates or bowls without spending a lot or having to store entire sets of dinner ware.

This year as we are staying home and I plan on spending the weekend baking and nesting I wanted my table to be simple and easy.

I am using vintage silver-plate serving trays from my collection as charger plates, my white dinner plates, and a brown transfer-ware  pheasant salad plate, which by the way is on sale at Macy’s for $12.99 (here). I added wine, water glasses, vintage flatware and linen napkins and I used a couple of vintage tartan throws instead of tablecloths.

I am still tweaking with my pumpkins and corn but I think the only thing I will do is add more of them and a few candles as well.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving? How will you be celebrating? How do you decorate your table for the big feast?

Have a great day!

  1. Your plates look amazing on the tartan throw! I really like your pheasant salad plates too. My Thanksgiving tablecloth is a very old pale gray damask cloth with gold pheasants with green heads all over it. And now I'm reminded that I'd better freshly launder and iron it because the day will come all too quickly, won't it? And decide which plates to use. Those pale pheasant plates from Dillards would look nice with it so I'll have to think about that!

  2. We had our Thanksgiving in October in Canada.

This weekend has Remembrance Day, so I'll be attending the national memorial service.
