Good morning! Happy International Women’s Day! It is a bright shiny, sunny day, something we have not seen in what seems like forever. I think there is another cold, rainy week ahead but for now I am going to live in the moment and savor the sun and the weekend. How was your week? Are you ready for the weekend? What are your plans?
If you will be baking, cooking, reading or decorating I found some things this week that you might like.

Hashtang Authentic recommended and reviewed by one of my favorite bloggers, Jeanne at Collage of Life. I am looking forward to reading this one.
Instagram is the fastest growing of all social media platforms, with 400 million monthly active users worldwide – half of whom are under the age of twenty-five. While some use the app as a personal networking tool, many also use it to build their creative business endeavours; whether in food and drink or fashion and lifestyle.
Sara Tasker has done just that, and since setting up her account whilst on maternity leave in 2013, has become an Instagram coach, iPhoneographer and social media influencer. Her chronicle of authentic everyday life and her mindful Me and Orla blog has developed into a business in which she provides access to free social media tips and creative business advice, alongside some hugely popular paid for e-courses for independent creatives.
Hashtag Authentic draws on the lessons Sara has learned over the past 5 years online to provide you with the essential tips, strategy and guidance on growing an online audience with heart. From the secrets of visual storytelling and crafting thumb-stopping Instagram photographs, to archiving your day-to-day life and remaining authentic to your true self, this book is both an inspiring manual and an interactive tool for finding your online voice, growing a tribe and using those skills to change your life, and – just possibly – the world.
Year of Wonder: Classical Music to Enjoy Day to Day
A unique celebration of classical music that showcases one inspirational piece each day of the year, written by an award-winning violinist and BBC Radio personality
Classical music has a reputation for being stuffy, boring, and largely inaccessible, but Burton-Hill is here to change that. An award-winning writer, broadcaster and musician, with a deep love of the art form she wants everyone to feel welcome at the classical party, and her desire to share her passion for its diverse wonders inspired this unique, enlightening, and expertly curated treasury. As she says, “The only requirements for enjoying classical music are open ears and an open mind.”
Year of Wonder introduces readers to one piece of music each day of the year, artfully selected from across genres, time periods, and composers. Burton-Hill offers short introductions to contextualize each piece, and makes the music come alive in modern and playful ways. From Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Puccini to George Gershwin, Clara Schumann, Philip Glass, Duke Ellington, and many remarkable yet often-overlooked voices, Burton-Hill takes us on a dazzling journey through our most treasured musical landscape.
Thoughtfully curated and masterfully researched, Year of Wonder is a book of classical music for everyone. Whether you’re a newcomer or an aficionado, Burton-Hill’s celebration will inspire, nourish, and enrich your life in unexpected ways.
