Good morning! I hope that your week is going well. My mom and my niece are visiting so my week has been fabulous. We have been going non- stop since they arrived Monday morning and I have enjoyed being a tourist in my own town. Long lazy days at the ocean frolicking in the waves, sunning on the sand and nights spent laughing, talking and watching our favorite movies. We have been baking, barbecuing, shopping, eating and relaxing. We have taken in a few historic sites and this weekend will be off on a road trip.
My mother-in-law is up and around, and although she is still weak she is feeling so much better physically, of course emotionally she is having a hard time. Hopefully she will be well enough to spend a few weeks with us in September.
I cannot believe that it is almost August, next week some of the kids in my neighborhood start back to school. I was at Home Goods recently and the shelves were filled with Halloween stuff, and a sales associate told me they will have Christmas items by the end of August. I am living in the moment and enjoying the sun, heat and afternoons with a book on the porch. The holidays and winter will be here soon enough.
What have you been up too? Are your savoring your summer or are you ready for cooler weather and the holidays?
I hope that you have a great day!

I am always reminded of the Charlie Brown Easter special, in which they look for Easter eggs but the stores are full of Christmas stuff and counting down to Christmas.
The best part of having visitors is having the excuse to do the local touristy things. Enjoy!
Glad things have been going well – your week sounds fun with den ones to hang out with in the sun.
I too stopped in HomeGoods with a friend I had lunch with on Mon. Hadn't been there in ages and was overwhelmed with the piles of stuff on shelves and in aisles – hard to move about. Yes, I noticed Halloween dishes and mugs etc. Crazy! I was searching for a really large cheese board – nothing there so came home and ordered one from Pottery Barn which should fit the bill!
Happy rest of the week Elizabeth – we are looking forward to expected, and much needed, rainy days.

I went to Hobby Lobby after I had lunch out yesterday to walk around. All they had was fall and Christmas stuff. No sales on anything else. I don't want any of that, don't think I'll be decorating for fall, so won't go back in there till after Christmas. I wish I could walk along the sandy shore by the ocean. I don't like to vacation, so really would like to live near one.

I'm so glad to hear you've got your mom and niece visiting and that your MIL is doing physically better. Home Goods is a fun place to shop but I always feel a bit shocked at the season I see. It's kinda surreal how I'm never in the same season that the retailers are focused on….:)
Here it's the greeting card shops that start putting Christmas stuff out in August.
One of the many reasons I've come to loath Christmas.
I am not a huge fan of summer. It gets really hot and I get listless. I feel completely without energy and spend a lot of time just lolling around. Looks like you're having a great time with family. Enjoy it.
