Good morning! I hope that you had a great weekend. Ours was a little crazy, we woke up to a phone call from my mother -in-law that her car had been stolen. Apparently she accidentally left her side garage door unlocked when she took out the garbage and sometime during the night, while she was asleep, the thief came in the garage, then into the house(when they didn’t find her keys inside the car) plucked her keys off of the hook in the kitchen, and drove off in her car. Thank God they didn’t hurt my mother-in-law, I do not even want to think of what could have happened if she would have woken up and startled them. What is even more crazy is that she lives in a house in the “active adult” neighborhood of an assisted living facility, I am not sure how the security did not see anyone come in the neighborhood and drive out in her car. We are grateful that nothing happened to her and frustrated that we are so far away.
This week we have contractors in and out remodeling a bathroom and the mudroom. We have an in-laws’ suite downstairs with a bathtub and decided that since we have aging parents a better solution would be to convert it to a shower. This morning the bathroom was stripped to the studs and by Wednesday next we will have a fabulous new bathroom and mudroom.
The weather here is in the high 90’s and humid. The last week it has been mostly gray and rainy. It is the peak of hurricane season so it is to be expected but every year it manages to take me by surprise. It is hard to believe that this week is Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end to summer, soon it will be Halloween and then the holidays will be upon us.
What is going on in your life lately? Are your kids and grandkids back at school? Do you have any fun plans for Labor day weekend?
Have a wonderful day!

A bathroom in a week…amazing! Do share before and after photos. We love a good makeover!

It is outrageous that your mother's car was stolen from INSIDE a garage INSIDE an assisted living community! Maybe the thief counted on the sense of security from being in such a neighborhood, that residents might not lock up.
Congratulations on the bathroom renovation. Showers are great. I hope it's big enough for a chair or bench and also for a person to get in and help a parent if they fall while showering. Been there done that.
Wishing you a very boring hurricane season.
My goodness, how scary! Don't they have CCTV cameras to watch people coming in and out?

That is frightening.
OMG, this is unbelievable !!! They came INTO THE HOUSE ???
Please get her SimpliSafe or some other kind of alarm. Probably young kids, but the fact that they came IN the house is serious stuff. God was looking over her, wasn't He ? love you….
