Good morning! I am so excited, after a long hot summer we are finally seeing Fall temperatures. Yesterday it was 75 and overnight 63; the perfect weather to air out the stale air in the house, and to sleep. The stores are packed with pumpkins, costumes and Thanksgiving supplies. I actually saw a few Christmas items as well(its’ a little early for that if you ask me). I am going to savor every cool morning, walk with the leaves crunching under my feet, the Fall colors and of course baking my favorite pumpkin treats.
My mother-in-law arrived yesterday and although she has lost a significant amount of weight since my father-in-law passed away she looks and feels fabulous. She only weighs 85 pounds so I am making it my mission to “fatten her up” while she is here. My friend made it thru her 14 hour surgery yesterday, and is doing well, they will begin to wake her up in a few days and I cannot wait to hear her voice. My sister and brother in law arrive next week and my parents a few days later. It’s going to be a busy but fun.
I haven’t decorated for Fall yet, I think for now I will add mini-white pumpkins to my existing decor. I did get some mums and green pumpkins for my porch but my mums already bloomed because its been so warm. I deadheaded them and I am hoping to see some new blooms in October. If anyone has any tips for for keeping mums alive please share.
What is going on in your life lately? Has Fall arrived in your area yet? Have you enjoyed any Fall treats or recipes yet? Are you baking? Decorating or been on any leaf peeping trips yet?
Have a great day!

Glad to hear your loved ones are doing OK.
Yes, fatten up your MIL. It will help her if she comes down with a cold or flu. (And make sure she gets a flu shot. You, too, for herd protection).

I so hope you all enjoy the visit…sounds just wonderful! My parents used to visit and always jumped out of the car with a bottle of champagne! Gosh I miss that! Enjoy your decorating Elizabeth…it's such a gift to us to welcome the holiday season and make our homes beautiful!

I'm not decorating for fall when it's 100 degrees. By the time we get cooler weather it will probably be too late in the season. Yes, you must try to fatten her up. She sounds positively tiny! Love the brown and white at the top(is it transfer ware?)
