Easing Into 2020

January 7, 2020 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 6 Comments

Good morning! I hope that your New Year has started out great. How are you doing on your resolutions, if you made them?

I decided after Christmas to take some time off, a vacation from life if you will. No blogging, no exercise, no yoga, lots of books, magazines, walks with my husband and pups, baking, new recipes, days on the couch in my pjs. I, like many of you feel as if from the minute I wake in the morning until my head hits the pillow that I am on the move, I just wanted a little break.

This past year was filled with lots of ups and downs,  my father-in-law passed away, I had a health scare, we thought we were moving and then we weren’t, my step-son moved back to the states with the grandkids from Argentina so we can see them more often, and I am feeling much better.

Today I am back to work, back to blogging, back to yoga and back to life. Already there are big things in the works and it is only January 6th! I am looking forward to a busy year, lots of traveling, visiting with family and friends, working on my health goals and more.

What are your plans for the year?

Have a great day!

A break can be so good. It sounds like you really got your batteries recharged. Wishing you all the best, et surtout la santé, as everyone here tells each other.

The other day I was reading a post on Twitter by a DC journalist who said he'd turned off notifications on his phone and it was the best thing he ever did. Well you know I don't turn my phone on. I can't imagine having something notifying me constantly. Sounds like you did what you needed to do for you!

Your time off after Christmas sounds lovely, probably more of us should do just the same. It's odd you posting this today because all of a sudden this morning when I woke up to the sunshine I felt the excitement of looking forward to new goals, new plans. It made me ready to begin letting go of Christmas and start packing things away, time to clear the decks and make room for new ideas. A few days ago I couldn't imagine feeling this way.

    Woman is a complicated creature!

I spent a few days around New Year's under the weather with a sinus infection. Not a good start to the year.
