Life Lately

January 8, 2020 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 4 Comments

Good morning how is your week, I am feeling very sluggish. As I mentioned I took the last week off which was a good and bad thing, good to relax and rejuvenate but now I am feeling like a blob.

I went to yoga Monday and I felt as if it was my first class ever,  it is amazing how much muscle memory and mass one looses in a week. I also don’t feel like eating anything healthy, don’t get me wrong I am not gorging on sweet treats but I don’t feel like resuming my normal diet. Over the holidays I was eating pasta, cheese and all sorts of things that I normally do not eat,  I think I might need to “detox” my system. Easier said than done I might add.

I think I am also a little depressed, I love “the most wonderful time of the year” and I miss the decorations, recipes, and spirit of people. Not to mention the unspeakable tragedy unfolding in Australia. I cannot believe the damage, loss of people, animals and property. Throw in the missile strikes in Iraq, the earthquake in Puerto Rico and it is enough to make a person jump back in bed and throw the covers over their head.

Yesterday my second floor laundry room flooded and leaked into the garage. Thankfully I was home and was able to mitigate the damage to the the stuff in the garage the water was dripping on and that I was only running a load on the hand wash cycle so there was considerably less water than a normal load. From what I can see the water leaked from the door of the washer, maybe the seal is loose? I am not sure but the repair man will figure that out.

Aside from that all is well, how is your year starting out? Are you sticking to your resolutions? I hope that you have a great day!

Wishing you a much better 2020 than how it's starting out!
You are lucky that the garage was below the leaking washing machine. When I moved into a new apartment, my badly connected new washing machine flooded the downstairs neighbors. Expensive.
The other day my kid said "I'm so stressed. The world is burning. World War III is going to start." What a future are we giving the next generation?

Well Elizabeth…we are indeed kindred spirits….my washer drainage valve broke and we had a flood of water pouring all over the laundry room. butler's pantry, half way through the kitchen, pantry and into the garage…a great way to spend a Friday evening….there is so much that is happenning currently..young boys being sent to Iraq, the wilfires in Australia…the world is losing it's moral compass….I pray for us all…better days, peace and kindness..

Given the news all over the world, it's easy to become stressed by it.
