Good morning friends, how are you? Did you have a good Mother’s Day weekend? My weekend was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the weekend was relaxing. We went for a few long walks with my “fur kids”, relaxed in the sun, and my husband made me hot chocolate in bed and a beautiful dinner.
Sadly I was not able to see my mom on Mother’s day but my sisters took great care of her and made her day very special. I’ve been able to see my mom each night for the last few weeks as we work out together on Zoom with my sister. We like it so much that we’ve decided to continue even after lockdown is over.
At the end of this week Phase 1 is starting here, and then every three weeks, unless there is a spike in cases, another phase will start and more and more things will open. Although I am happy to see small businesses opening I am a little worried about what is going to happen: especially after seeing new reports of the throngs of people in Florida on the beaches or in Tennessee at the Smokey Mountain National Park, no masks, no social distancing.
That said, I am a firm believer that we are all responsible for our own health, therefore I will not be flying anytime soon, I will continue to shelter in place and if I am out of my house I will be wearing a mask, gloves, social distancing, etc. I am content to stay home for now and see where things go, I realize that this is not possible for everyone but I think we can all do our part to keep ourselves and family as safe as we can.
Thankfully I am well and everyone is my family is too, I am praying that it stays that way as I have many relatives that have underlying conditions.
Aside from that like everyone else I have good days and bad. On cold rainy days I get a little down and I have stayed in bed working and reading all day. On sunny days I find myself with more energy and outside soaking up as much sun as I can. I have been listening to a lot of podcasts and audio books while on my daily walks and some days have lost track of time and found that I have walked for 2 hours.
Tell me, how are you doing? Are you ready to break out of your cocoon/home? How do you see your life and routine changing? Will you be back at your gym, yoga studio, hair salon or favorite restaurant the minute it opens? Or will you wait a bit? I’ve said before that I really miss my yoga studio, but I don’t see myself going back any time soon, unless we practice outside which is a possibility. As for my hair, my 3” roots don’t look great but I’m willing to wait on that as well, I’ll just wear a hat.
I hope that you have a wonderful day, stay safe friends and feel free to reach out if you are frustrated, want to share your latest recipe or just to say hi.
