Good Monday morning friends how was your weekend? Mine was hot, humid, and lazy. We spent early mornings on the front porch reading, I found myself transported to Italy and Paris as a my pups raced back and forth chasing lizards.
I have lived in my neighborhood for almost 12 years and walk to the water every morning where I stand for a few minutes and look for birds, watch the fish jump and look at the clouds. This week was very special because I saw a pod of 8 dolphin, I have never seen a dolphin in the water much less 8! It was magical and the highlight of my week.
I also cam upon the egret in the photo above and it just stood and let me take its photo, almost as if it were posing for me.
I got my haircut and colored! I cannot tell you how much better I feel and look. I last had my hair cut and highlighted in January and was supposed to have it cut and colored again the first week of March, but that didn’t happen. It goes without saying that I am not qualified to do my own hair or wax my eyebrows, and I was really starting to look and feel badly when I looked in the mirror. I wore a mask, social distanced and did my best to be safe and keep my stylist safe as well.
As you know I have been tending my neighbors garden the last 2 weeks, and have been thinking abut starting my own next year. While doing my research I discovered The Daily Gardner and really great website and podcast.
Life sometimes feels like it is at a standstill and in many ways it is but I am doing my best to find the joy in every single day I hope that you do as well.
Have a great day friends, stay safe.

I know you must feel 'very smart and dusted off' now you've been able to visit the salon. It does make a difference when one feels refreshed and tidied up. Tomorrow I'll be getting nails done, (wow I'll get out of the house and it won't involve food shopping!), always a nice feeling. Still no hair color as I continue to grow out my 'silver'. It's hard going but I plan to see it through – it's a "now or never" thing!
Love the photo of the egret, and seeing a large pod of dolphins was a super addition to the 'happiness report.'
Off to read The Daily Gardener now.

We have to find joy in every day. I would feel joy every time I got to walk to the water and take photos of dolphins! Love the egret photo!

Your picture is like a Japanese painting! My dachshunds are obsessed with chasing lizards but thankfully never catch them. What a blessing it must have been to see the dolphin pod. Oh, how I need to get up my nerve to visit my hair salon!
