Good morning friends, it’s Monday morning and I thought I would try something new here on the blog. I’ve see iterations of “happiness” posts on other blogs for years and enjoyed them, this past weekend after watching yet another depressing news report I decided to start my own.
Here are a few things that made me happy this week.
My neighbors have 3 children, and as part of their home schooling during the shelter in place order, they decided to plant a garden. The next three weeks they are out of town and they invited us to pick all of the produce. In the last 3 days we have picked over 25 lbs. of tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and lots of herbs. If you follow me on Instagram you can see some of the things I am making with all of these tomatoes.
School is out for the summer but there are still plenty of opportunities to keep your kids entertained and educated using Wide Open School, and they even have a summer camp! I discovered this website via YoYo Ma, and I think it will be great for my grandkids.
I found this cool Charlotte Bronte bookmark on Etsy and ordered a few for friends.
I listened to The Jane Austen Society this weekend and really enjoyed it.
I also started listening to The Simple Luxurious Life Podcast and the podcast is as great at the blog. Shannon has a beautiful voice and is a font of knowledge.
With the tomatoes from my neighbor’s garden I made this scrumptious pasta sauce.
These were just a few of the things that made me happy this week. Please share the things, people, recipes or whatever else made you happy.

I'm sharing in my next door neighbor's summer garden again – he grows and harvests whilst I cook and often share our meals with him (he's a divorced guy still learning his way around the kitchen with a cook book in hand!!).
Those Bronte bookmarks are amazing – love finding little treasure such at these.
I made the pistachio ice cream last night – just taste-tested a spoonful, yummy – will serve for dessert this evening and surprise Bob!
