Rainy weekends, are some of my favorites, it’s like Mother-Natures’ silent directive to stop and stay inside, to relax and to care for not only the tasks inside your house but yourself as well.
I stayed in and had a spa day a facial manicure, pedicure and a nice long bath. I cleaned my closet because while looking for something to wear I decided that there were many things I was no longer going to wear anymore, I guess during Covid-19 I have out grown them. Not because they didn’t fit but because while sheltering at home I decided like many others that there are things in the closet and the house I no longer need.
I baked some pumpkin bread for friends, and made some caramel stuffed peanut butter and dark chocolate bars for my neighbors. Then I made some cauliflower leek soup, the recipe was easy and delicious considering that it had so few ingredients. Often times that is the case, simple is better.
My sweet Patches is slowly warming the hearts of her sisters, Pisa and Paris. They don’t always like one another but we are having more good days now than bad so that makes me happy. She is a spunky, vivacious little dachshund and is already getting herself into tricky situations that she needs to be rescued from. The funny thing is that we watch her like a hawk but every once in awhile you glance away and boom there is a crash, a squeak or some other mayhem.
I recently discovered the California artist Ria Krishnan(three images above) on Instagram and I am in love with each one of her paintings. Ria considers herself a storyteller and anything that she sees or connects with may find it’s way into her paintings. This talented artist has large and small works available if you are in the market for a piece or are looking for a special gift for Christmas. This is not a sponsored post, I am filled with happiness each time I see one of her paintings and I wanted to share her with you. Check out her website or her Instagram page for more information.
I hope that you share what made you happy this week, small moments or big it is always nice to share in the pleasure of another’s happiness.
Have a wonderful day friends.
