I hope that you are not “shopped out” from Black Friday because today is Small Business Saturday.
Shopping small businesses is always a great idea, especially this year when so many are struggling to create and to stay afloat. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite small business that I have purchased from lately or have on my list for Christmas.
Shropshire needle felt artist – fine wool sculpture, Zoom classes, needle felt supplies can all be found in her Etsy shop! She is also the author of “Little Needle Felt Animals” published by Harper Collins 2014. I am partial to this Needle Felt Fox and to the needle felted toadstools.
Di lives in Wales and sells beautiful antiques in her Etsy Shop. I love this muffin dish and think it would be perfect for breakfast in bed on a Sunday morning!
Deb is an expert on antique textiles and has been collecting them for years. After finding these one of a kind pieces which she sources from all over the world she offers them in her shop along with amazing one of a kind pillows that she creates. Each of these one of a kid creations are a work of art and history, and their prices reflect that. I realize that these are very expensive creations and are not within everyones’ budget, including mine but I have been a fan of Deb and her work for over 10 years and love to visit her shop just to take in the beauty and history and thought you might like to as well.
Allison is an interior decorator and a former blogger, she has a wonderful Etsy shop. The blue and white lover in your life would enjoy this platter and if you are a fan of polo, horses and wonderful antiques than you will enjoy every piece in her store.
Riley Sheeley is amazingly talented, in fact she designed the outside of my favorite advent calendar, the Bonne Maman preserve calendar. I purchases the Paris print above and am going back to purchase a few of the Christmas prints.
I have been a fan of Jamie Beck and Kevin Berg for over 10 years, their photography is amazing. During the lockdown(s) in France Jamie has been creating her isolation creations every day and you can purchasr a poster of each creation. I purchased two pieces from the first lockdown, but honestly, if I had room I would have bought them all. Janet Reid Wilson Art, every piece in this shop is stunning! The delft vase with white rose and the Antique blue and white bowl with lemons are two of my favorite pieces.
Alice Acreman Silks, is the Etsy 2020 Design award winner in the fashion category. I cannot decide which is my favorite piece in her store, the silk Dragonfly scarf, the Kimono Jacket or the Orange Oracle Silk Scarf, each one is more beautiful than the next.
Toys with Emotions, handmade wood toys! I want this Mini cake! and this wooden play tea set, This Kitchen set and Ice cream Stacking Toy would also make wonderful gifts for your kids or grandkids.

Patricia is an artist, blogger and friend and her work is amazing. You can find prints, original art, cards, notebooks and more in her shop! She also does commission so if that is of interest to you contact her directly.

Ria Kirshnan Fine Art, I “met” Ria on Instagram and I fell in love with her beautiful paintings. You can see all of her fine art on her website and perhaps find something special for yourself or your family and friends.

These are just a few of the creative, hard working small businesses that I purchase from, I also have plans to buy gift cards from my favorite local restaurant, yoga studio and hair salon. I encourage you to do the same because now more than ever these hard working business who are by the way the backbone of our country need our help.
