Good morning friends, I hope that your year is off to a good start. Mine is great, I am finally feeling better, I had a nasty cold that seemed to linger and linger and I was exhausted from feeling sick for over 3 weeks. I spent the week between Christmas and New Year having a “staycation.” By that I do not mean “sheltering in place” as we have been doing for the last 10 months but a time to completely shut out the world, the news, social media, and simply relax, read and reflect.
I also adjusted my mindset and realize that I am not going anywhere until the Fall of 2021. Although it makes me sad it gives me comfort in the finality of knowing that things with Covid are not going to get better before then, so I can settle in here and plan accordingly.
I cleaned and organized my paperwork. Sadly my house is not paperless, no matter how hard I try, by the end of the year I have files of magazine articles, recipes, and more. Many of the recipes I make and post on the blog, but then I keep the page thinking I might need it later? I also love to save and reread the cards and “snail mail” I get, but I cannot keep everything so every year I purge these files.
I gave the closet a quick declutter, I was going to go through and discard everything I haven’t worn during the year like I normally do but that would have left me with yoga pants, t-shirts and pajamas and I think I am going to need more in my wardrobe after Covid than that.
The best part about my little holiday was doing nothing, I woke every single day with no schedule, no agenda and it was so nice not to have to be anywhere or do anything if I did not want to. I read a book a day and sometimes I read 2. A few days I stayed in my pajamas all day and laid on the couch with 3 pups and my book. Other days I cleaned or baked or took longs walks.
Now I am rested, rejuvenated and ready for whatever the new year has in store.
I am going to be moving my blog to WordPress and I am both excited and nervous. Excited to make some changes on the blog and afraid that I cannot learn to blog in WordPress because it is nothing like Blogger. I will keep you posted on the move and if you have any WordPress tips please share.
Have a great day my friends. Happy New year to you, I hope that 2021 is whatever you want it to be!

So good to hear you are feeling beter! Wishing you a happy New Year x
Thank you! Happy New Year.
I figure the same thing. If people don't follow the guidelines, we're in this for a long period of time. I say learn to enjoy what you can in your home because that's about all we have right now. Happiness, after all, is within.

It is great you are feeling better!
Your move to WordPress will be interesting to read about.
Happy New Year dear Elizabeth. Glad to know you have recovered and hope you stay well for the remainder of the winter.
My, you have been busy, but what a great feeling it is when so much has been completed around the house – doing the same here now!
Hmm, changing to WordPress, brave you! I hope it goes smoothly – know nothing about that platform though so sorry I have no helpful tips.
Sending hugs – Mary
